I never heard of this, I'll look more into it. But if that is the case good lord I think 400 billion is low and conservative. It's not even taking into account the ripple effect of the damages and lack of business and farming that will happen during all the flooding. California contributes about 12 to 14% to the GDP of the US every year. And is ranked the 8th largest GDP if it was a country by itself. Take that out of the equation and see the ripples effect the rest of the states and country as a whole.

You know, there was a special report on the levees there in central CA, on Nat Geo I think. I happened to catch it on a weekend. They are in terrible shape, but the focus of the program was their probably failing during an earthquake.

Just watching that, it was easy to see that many saturated levees are going to fail...they're going to collapse and all that water is going to surge downstream.

Very not good.

I think it was the Delta area, where all the croplands are, sorry.

I saw that too, it was titled the "crumbling of america' and went into detail about our aging infrastructure. It said that sacramento is highly susceptable to major flooding. This is definitly a storm to keep an eye on.

Yesterday, I had a very vivid nightmare of a massive tsunami hitting the world and resulting in the meltdown of all nuclear reactors of the world.

I live outside of Sacramento. Six inches of rain for us is very bad. With just 2" in a day, we get major stream flooding.

Get out the gold mining equipment cause after this wash you just may find it laying on the surface. Might as well make the best of it.

This is serious people.

Anyone reading this who lives in California should take immediate action by:
1. Putting on a life vest
2. begin driving East
3. Yell out the windows to everyone you pass that a flood is coming
