The change of regime in Egypt also adds to the increase in regional lobbying for an independent Palestinian state. |

Much easier to declare war on an entire country than to try pick off it's rabble from a distance. Quoting: LunaticFringe The problem there is that there was always a certain impunity that came with fighting a divided rebel force. When it comes to fighting a country (especially one with immense political backing in and outside the region) it's a bit more complicated. ....especially when 54% of the entire population of the country you're decimating are under the age of 9. |

Then the parents should know better than to act like fucksticks. High expectations for a culture that promotes child martyrdom and sets up their munitions by schools and mosques. |

I appreciate that you support Israel and have your opinions firmly set so I'm not going to enter into debate about children, the blockade or internal politics. On the topic of the thread title, how do you feel Israelis will react after Thursdays vote at the UN? |

I thought so too! I found it a bit weird when I read it at first. I think those powers do have vetoes when it comes to votes in the Security Council but as for the General Assembly I think only a majority Yes vote is needed. |

About the UN, I would imagine any Israeli will feel enraged if Palestine is recognized as a state at the UN cos as I've said, it will open up a whole new can of worms ! Plus it will show that Israel really does stand alone and has lost the support of the US...mainly cos of Hussein ! |

Particularly about the matter showing that Israel does stand alone in the region. That said, there are still plenty of nations that throw their full support behind Israel so Tel-Aviv can still at least have the assurance of that. I had a look at some of those pictures. It makes my heart sink into my stomach to see kids holding guns and chanting slogans like that. There were some real eye-openers in that article, thank you for sharing. Hopefully before our time is through we see a better future for all people in that region. Something has to give sooner or later, as it does everywhere else. |

I'm glad you took a look at that link, it is truly sad that the parents teach their children hate and violence at an age when a child should be loved and nurtured in order to become a functioning member of society ! There is nothing in those children's future but violence and bloodshed ! I too hope that one day we can learn to live in peace on this Earth but I fear that may not be the case for that region ! Remember, they have been fighting over Jerusalem for more than a 1000 years... My only real hope is that someday, the supply of weapons and rockets from Iran will be cut and the people of Gaza will have to reorient themselves towards other, more peaceful occupations and also I hope that IF that happens Israel's leaders will be wise enough to lift the crippling blockade they now have in place ! |

Why would this jeoprodise Israels safety? if Palestine is given a seat at the UN they will be accountable for all the rockets fired at Israel, and subject to international sanctions. Israel may actually get some credibility out of this move. I don't think so, he's up there with the others laying low, vying with those who you've traded your life to to bless your soul, |

Quoting: NSF001 Gaza is already under a blockade by Israel, there are basically no more sanctions that can be imposed on them that would be any worse then what they already have...thus Hamas will keep firing its rockets at Israel but when it comes to the IDF retaliating that's where it gets more complicated ! Cos now when Hamas attacks Israel with rockets again the UN will turn a blind eye...and when the IDF retaliates everyone will cry wolf on how Israel is attacking a sovereign nation, regardless of the fact that Israel is the first sovereign nation being attacked ! |

Does anyone remember the video that was on here this past summer... it had to do with Muslims at ground zero of the World Trade Centre... a young pregnant muslim woman, who looked modern by the way, made a speech that included something like; she was carrying a martyr, and she put her hand on her baby... I was so appalled.. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.. that child doesn't stand a chance with a mother like that. So unfortunately I have to agree with you.. those children are bred to become martyrs. Makes me want to cry for their wasted lives. |

But being under siege by Israel just makes it easier to play the victim card. The UN currently let it slide because, from an external viewpoint Israel appears to hold all the trump cards and often just appears like a bully. A country, even as non-member state will still have a certain amount of responsibility to control aggressive behaviors of it's populace. What have Israel got to lose from this? Sure, Hamas et al will play this up like they have just won the war but that is just bravado and will soon wear thin with the people in Palestine. Discussing the issues affecting both sides may bring something like progress. I don't think so, he's up there with the others laying low, vying with those who you've traded your life to to bless your soul, |

A VOTE FOR JUSTIN TRUDEAU IN 2015, WOULD BE THE MOST COWARDLY & IRRESPONSIBLE THING A CANADIAN CITIZEN COULD DO TO THEIR OWN PEOPLE. GUN GRABBERS ARE THE COMMON ENEMY OF ALL PEOPLE. GUN CONTROL HAS RESULTED IN THE SLAUGHTER OF 262 MILLION CITIZENS BY THEIR GOVERNMENTS OVER THE PAST 100 YEARS. THE LIBERAL PARTY OF CANADA & THE NDP ENDORSE GUN CONTROL, AN ESSENTIAL POLICY OF HITLER, STALIN, MAO, POL POT, EDI AMIN, QADDAFI, SADDAM, ASSAD, & EVERY OTHER TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT THIS PAST CENTURY. CANADIANS MUST NEVER FORGET THE BETRAYAL OF BILLS C-68 & C-17. WE MUST NOT REST UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY REPEALED. C-19 WAS A GOOD START......BUT JUST A START. GET OFF YOUR COLLECTIVE ASSES AND MAKE AN IMPACT. WE HAVE 26 MONTHS. I, THEE BOB, SWEAR ON THE ALTER OF GOD TO FIGHT ALL FORMS OF CANADIAN TYRANNY AND SAVE MY COUNTRY FROM THE EVILS OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER. I WILL NEVER HAND IN MY GUNS. EVER.
