They know very well that such a move is counterproductive to the peace process and will certainly spark violence in the region. ONCE AGAIN, they are forcing Israel into a position of having to defend itself, just like when they fired the thousands of rockets into Israel. How much longer can Israel go on extending the hand of peace to these people whose only goal is the destruction of Israel?

A "no" at this point won't make a difference. I'm for a two state solution. Actually, I'm for anything that will stop the bloodshed on both sides. I don't have a clue what that solution is, but I'm willing to try anything at this point.

There are so many countries voting in favor of a Palestinian state that I'm relatively certain that by this time tomorrow, Palestine will be formally recognized and have a voice in the UN. I think this is a good thing. If there is a bigger table to discuss and end the violence, then I'm all for it.

I wish that people could see the bigger picture. I don't think the Arab world wants a solution to this problem. With the so-called Arab Spring, the Muslim Brotherhood has gained more power and influence and for the first time in years the Arab countries are standing behind the Palestinians. I don't know about you all, but this little conflict between Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel is about to go beyond a "local" internal issue.

Well, it has arrived, today (29th) the UN is expected to pass a historic resolution recognizing Palestine (within the 1967 borders) as a nonmember observer state. We will se what happens.
