Re: Gun BAN APPROVED by UN & Signed by Obama
1. This is OP's interpretation of the speech.
2. Are govt. agencies gonna go door to door and confiscate these weapons?
3. If these weapons were bought legally, but are now deemed illegal, is the govt. going to reimburse citizens for the cost of the weapon if it is confiscated?
4. Does the govt. expect it's citizens to bring knives to a gunfight?
5. A ban on these weapons is just not going to work out well.

My final point: The second amendment was written during a time when guns were a pain in the ass to load and fire...so maybe our founding Father's would agree to a ban on semi's and fully automatic weapons.

Yes, I own weapons...I've shot every weapon the USMC has in it's arsenal...even got my name on a plaque on the M60 range in 29 palms. I don't believe that I'd need and M60 to protect my family however. Some of the weapons that are legal now are a bit overkill-so I'd agree to a ban on those.

I don't agree to a ban on handguns with clips, six shooters, or bolt action rifles.
Quoting: AFGW 21140569

That's the most twisted logic I've ever head and the most utter bullshit I ever heard. The second amendment is there to protect against encroaching government. The founding fathers knew that weapons and technology would get better and hindering self-defense would prevent liberty and tyranny would grow, because the government would end up with better weapons than you.

South africa had the same shit ...

laws were passed to hand your guns into your nerest police station

some guys said they would never hand them in ...

eventually they did .... all licenced firearms are on national datatbase ... hand them in, or face stiff fines and imprisonment ...

and the funny thing is that there is no 'compensation' .... many of the guns handed in ended up with gangs/robbers/crooks

it's sad ....
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20129820

Spot on...and it is the criminal South African Police Services selling their new arms Cache to their buddies in the gangs to use to rape, rob and murder. The situation now is that we have gangs of subhumans who are better armed than our fat, useless Police Force of Thugs. The Private Security Industry here is making a killing too along with the Insurance Corporations - and our Unarmed Liberal Democratic Society has one of the highest crime rates in the world. Disarming the public causes crime to increase.

Grow up and grow withouth violence.

sic et simpliciter.

If you lived in Germany, and no homicide occurred is due do the BAN on weapons, if you lift the BAN the homicide rates will be those of US. If US put a ban, you can hang out everywhere, already supposing that nobody might carry guns. If you're unsure, pepper sprays are terrific, the victim will be paralyzed.
So my darling, that "some shit" happens for a mere reason: Guns were allowed

Most victims of violent crime and there families worldwide are always pro gun ownership, yet rarely do they have a voice...they are drowned out by the unaffected-never-wrong-professional class of loud liberals who live in leafy suburbs away from those less forunate folk at the front line of Prole discontent...You take a walk through a dangerous neighbourhood and if you survive a mugging come back here with the same attitude and some scars and I might see your point Mario.

Re: Gun BAN APPROVED by UN & Signed by Obama
In this case robbery i think the pepper injects an intolerable pain into the eyes, that in turn, will cause so much stress on the crackpot that won't be able to stand up turn or aim. If you manage to spray all the bottle, the pain will be so unbearable his control will be lost. You then run away and call the police. Sure it is best
Nature, holy nature!
I do not sit in a church to feel better about me. In walled rooms ... No! If i want to feel better I go in the nature, to a sea or a forest! That makes me happy. Nature gives me power and a pure feeling of life.
Churches are the cesspit of all the impurity that people gather voluntarily.

Water, trees and birds, they dont judge, they embrace you without expecting anything in return.
People go to church to feel accepted, and it works for some people; I have no problem with that. I just don't think that going to church is the right path for all people, that is why I cherish the ability to believe what I want. Don't hesitate to hold your own beliefs even if they do not coincide with the Bible.

While I can agree with you on principle... the problem is, It is merely a stepping stone to getting rid of guns all together. That is what is ultimately wanted.

I still can't figure out what someone expects to do with fully automatic weapons, etc.
Do they think they can hold off the government using an automatic weapon if the government decided to take it from them?

That being said, I can not and will not agree to any ban on firearms because I understand the true intent is to remove ALL guns from private citizens.

I am the much hated poster that has been called all sorts of things tonight. Do any of you realize that they're are bans already in place? Like fully-automatic weapons? I don't agree with the banning of firearms in order to protect life and property... all of you hating me for my statement just gives me a list of non-critical thinkers. All I stated was that maybe the constitution would have been a totally different document if the founding fathers were here today in this time and age.

Oh...and by the way, if you don't like what I posted, that's fine, but don't disrespect a person who fought for your country just because you didn't agree with what they had to say or misinterpreted it. Also...I'm a chick...not a dude, AFGW= A Few Good Women.

I'm willing to bet that not one of the haters served at all and don't ever tell a Marine that they should be ashamed of themselves for having an opinion on a controversial topic.

If you have been trained in firing a weapon, all you would need was one shot...one kill.

I didn't have pepper spray but I had a taser and it still managed to get a shot off. Then the gun jammed...maybe you are right...maybe pepperspray is the answer...Tasers are more fun though...a tied him up and tasered him at will until the cops arrived 30 mins later. If I had had pepperspray the criminal would have been blind today and me in jail for injuring him..

get real...get some experience.

You haven't been a victim of violent crime Have You? Countries differ because of various factors when it comes to crime. You'll see in Italy as poverty increases through austerity so will violent crime - also remember that most times crime stats are manipulated for political gain to name one reason.

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1760050

In Italy, homicidal rates are so low, that on mainstream tv the talk shows and media talk about a single case for months, even years, this fashions goes over and over. I even got sick of listening.

E.G.

Yara Gambirasio, months of Yaras, years, they still talk about Yara. There are so few homicides, i know them all. Cogne, Meredith, Parolisi, Yara, Sara scazzi...... Federica mangiapelo.....

*yawnnnn*

In my opinion, i wouldn't even befriend one dude who got a pistol. It'd be almost insane. Only Mafia Camorra Ndrangheta e Sacra Corona Unita have guns along with them.
