I read(could be wrong) that Gangnam was an old un-used manufacturing district that was bought up by a bunch of elites and made into one of the fanciest, expensive places in S.Korea? It's waterfront property is super expensive(if I read correctly and remember). The Gangnam thing is supposed to be some kind of protest against the district for the environmental harm it's causing and the negative affect the way those people live influence other(mainly younger) citizens socially?
