HEY Kiwi's.. "Tongariro tracks to reopen after eruption"

I am deeply concerned about this and I feel it is very, very irresponsible of DOC to allow this to happen. Bottom line, tourist dollars... but at what cost? :(


"The Tongariro Northern Circuit and part of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing can re-open on Thursday, Conservation Minister Kate Wilkinson says.

Mount Tongariro's eruption on November 21 saw flights cancelled, a Civil Defence alert issued, a three-kilometre exclusion zone set up around the mountain and Department of Conservation tracks closed within a three kilometre radius of the crater."
