It's not you, how you practice, how you believe, just not about you at all. For all I know, you're just afraid of judgment and hell, and probably an agnostic deep down.
It's about the religion you belong to, where it's from, what's it's done, to the world and to other human being, directly and indirectly.. as a whole. Telling your children about god, as seen by your religion only isn't teaching them to nurture any common sense whatsoever. Common sense doesn't come from someone telling you how things are. I would never teach my children ONE religion. Teach them all religions and let them decide when they are old enough to formulate an opinion based on knowledge of life and religions in general. People truly do not see the dangers in prohibiting children decide things for themselves.
Be honest with yourself, be honest with your children. And no, I'm not speaking to you directly, I'm speaking to religious people with children in general.

My kids and grandkids choose to follow what I believe, not because I taught them it was the only way but they chose my beliefs because they know I am at peace with my life. They were always encouraged to research everything before they made up their minds. I am not afraid of anything, it's because of my faith that I do not have fear.

riiiiiiight.
in the same way hindu children "choose" to become hindus...
in the same way buddhist children "choose" to become buddhists...

I study all religons and my kids and grandkids discuss all religons. I have always made it clear that it was their path to choose. They have made their own choices and no I won't demand that they follow any religon and they know that I will love them no matter what path they choose. They choose my path because they feel its right for them and I wont discourage them because you and people like you feel they should believe otherwise.

For some reason, I don't feel like you're being completely honest about this. Did you not take your children to church?
The problem still exists even if you yourself if by some chance hadn't indirectly influenced your children's religious beliefs, it is happening on a major scale in the united states specifically. I kind of feel like you see and understand the dangers of this. I don't see anybody looking into the history of any religion and feeling like it holds any weight in the modern world. I feel like people of faith, tend to disregard all evidence that points to what the believe being in direct contradiction to itself. There's too much evidence to suggest these are only stories and no proof of them being more than that. I am leaning towards life in the universe being true gods. There's just so much more evidence to support their existence than god created by men, to explain the things they couldn't at the time. As we learn more, I see less reason to put it all on a man made god. I feel like we should keep looking to space, because even if life elsewhere isn't responsible for our creation, I know for certain if they exist, they'll have a much better idea of who or what did. I honestly do not see god in space, as a human being. I can't. Not using common sense.
