Im talking in general, It would take exceptional maturity to do ten years age difference and yes, Ive seen it work to great success and its about something deeper than mere lust. Its a longing to spiritualy support one another cause both will be from different generations. The older man will have to be young at heart and lenient and not controlling. The younger woman will have to be reflective and thoughtful and vice versa if it was older woman, younger man.

Young is young. I am around your age and I won't date anybody younger than 25 years old. Why? Because younger than that and the maturity factor starts to weigh in. A 19 year old has had extremely limited experience with the world and probably still lives at home with mom and dad.

At least look for college graduate age.

OP: she was probably just being nice to you, and you mistook it for flirtation. Don't worry, this happens all of the time. Think of it like she is a waitress and is trying to get a tip, only she isn't trying to get a tip obviously. She is trying to score points with her boyfriend's relatives.
