They can't fly fast enough to reach escape velocity. But, they can only fly so high due to the oxygen levels thinning more and more as you climb higher. As they rise higher, the amount of energy required to keep going increases, the more the need for oxygen increases, but the less oxygen there is. So, based on their weight, size, energy needs and other factors they hit a '0' point where they can't go any higher. |

I used the search function and couldn't find anything... Quoting: PEC 22940048 So, why don't birds fly to the moon? Are they too stoopid to realize it's even there? If I was a bird, I would definitely be a moon bird. How do you know they don't? you know they don't because you were taught they don't. did you ever think of asking a bird? bet not. why? 'cos you think it would be a silly idea. do birds fly to the moon? no. why? 'cos theres no trees to land and rest on on the 250000mile journey. have a nice day. :o] H.A.N.D. |

I hate this site now.... smfh... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26817230 Yes and why are two threads with this same title pinned? Have you seen the moon tonight?? I wish I still had a telescope. People are saying it's Jupiter, but without my scope, I don't know. It's REALLY bright and around here, when the moon is out, its light usually blots all the stars and planets in that section of the sky! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28258442 BASED ON A TRUE STORE hehehe Moonbird small spacer artist/creator: Mike Higgs appearances: 1970s / Associated Newspapers spacer Remember Moonbird? - He lived on the moon with a flock of similar moonchicks and moonhens. The colony was protected by the all-seeing Moonhawk. No two moonbirds were the same, each having their own unique colour and pattern. Surprising, then, to find that our star Moonbird was just plain old white. Anyway, our cheery bird regularly followed a moonbeam down to earth where he could experience all the quirks and quandries of our modern earthly existence... Moonbird first appeared as daily strips in various Associated Newspaper titles. In the early eighties, creator Mike Higgs regenerated the flighty fellow into a childrens picture book character. Titles included: Moonbird Moonbird to the Rescue Moonbird and the Unicorn Moonbird and the Space Pirates [link to www.toonhound.com] Moooon Birds.... OMG! I have seen these!
