It's not caused by 2 panes of glass. It's either genuine or caused by something natural. I remember seeing this sort of thing in the sky (naked eye, outdoors) maybe 5 or 10 years ago.

Always seems to be when the sun is close to the horizon (morning or evening) on a sunny but not cloud-free day.

Well, there is something that looks like a second sun. I have pictures of 2 suns setting in Vermont from several weeks ago. The regular sun and a smaller planet setting at the same time behind the Adirondack Mountains. I don't know how anyone could not have noticed this one. it was not a sundog. I know what sun dogs look like.

What ever the object is, does not show all the time, that's the tricky thing about it.

Did you read what I wrote before? The object near the sun doesn't appear that often where you can see it with naked eyes. It is not actually another sun, but a planet, orb, whatever. IT LOOKED LIKE a smaller sun though setting that evening.. It was Amazing!

I don't see a sun anywhere here just clouds right now ..
