One of my Muslim friends is my doorman, he has a gun, and he's very protective of me.

I'll check back in to see what the situation is like in the morning. Ideally, it will have calmed down - although I don't think people are going to give up that easily. The next best thing? A day off!

Mine is not Egyptian but she thinks that i have to worship her all the time when she's awake and sleeps most of the time, it's how kittehs are methinks, at least i taught her to massage my back for a game. :)
Egyptian kittehs are a bit bigger than the typical western domestic one, still beautiful kittehs.

In the top right screen, looks like teargas being thrown from the vehicle facing the camera. People run up and toss the teargas canisters back at it.

Harry Fear is or was a spokesman for the Palestinian people in Gaza, quite closely associated with them.

Today's events are strictly internal among Egyptians, concerning an edict President Morsi put out giving himself dictatorial powers.

He declared himself to be above judicial review. A council of judges has vocally opposed this.

The general populous is rising up against Morsi, and to lesser degree, against the Muslim Brotherhood which pretty much installed him.

This internal political strife, not religious or ethnic conflict.

Few, if any, Palestinians or Jewish people are involved.

This is not about Gaza.

It looks like people went home for the night, but the tents say this isn't over.

Much of the protesting and clashes in Cairo went down the street and onto the Nile Corniche (a main street along the Nile River).

The Constitutional Court is due to issue a statement about the president's declaration at 11:00 this morning:

Jesus! They are gassing people who were asleep in those tents! WTF??

Now the gas has cleared, and the protesters are approaching the police barrier again.

Day two of what was supposed to be a one day protest.

Ruh-roh.

You see how the tear gas is being shot down the street, away from Tahrir?

That's because that's where the action is.

The protesters are throwing it back! Wow!

It will get livelier as people wake up (Egyptians are not, as a rule, early birds) and as people finish work for the day.

I am going to work myself. I'll check back later!

There is still some protesting activity, however the 'big one' is supposed to happen Friday.

Republican Senator John McCain calls on Obama administration to threaten to withhold foreign aid to Egypt unless President Morsi reverses decision

So now the pressure is on. Egypt just signed a deal for a fat loan package from the IMF, but there are other monies thrown in from other countries and if that goes, the whole deal is gone.

For now the situation is calm and I plan to get some sleep tonight.

US Embassy Twitter account debates politics with Egyptians

"One of the revolution's ambitions is guaranteeing that power is neither concentrated in neither one hand nor one entity," a tweet published in Arabic by the US Embassy Cairo Twitter account on Tuesday.

After, the launch of a hot debate started between Egyptian Twitter users and the embassy.

Many Twitter users expressed their anger towards the United States' stance on democracy, yet the state has supported the Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi administration.

"Please stop supporting the fascist Muslim Brotherhood. We used to think the US were supporters of Democracy. Now prove it!" Osama ElBatrik @OBatrik tweeted in response to the US Embassy tweet.

The US Embassy Cairo tweeted in return: "We don’t support them."

"We want to see the constitutional process in #Egypt move forward in a way that does not overly concentrate power in one set of hands," the US Embassy Cairo also tweeted.

Another reaction was by Iaskmaie @maii who stated via Twitter, "Liar Liar pants (& ass) on fire."

Furthermore, the US Embassy Cairo account denied the accusation of being a liar, asking the Twitter user to open a dialogue if she wants.

IMF will not grant Egypt loan without tough reforms: UK official

Remember, IMF loan was approved November 20th, just 2 days before President Morsi issued that controversial decree. I keep reading on news tickers that IMF says it will not give the loan to Egypt if there's a change in policy. Hmmmm.....

I saw that. But then yesterday was supposed to be their day to protest, and they called it off at the last minute.

Egypt: another day, another protest.

Yes, they called it off because they didn't want clashes to happen. Lets see what happens til Saturday, the way things go here it changes every second almost, lol.
IF they do the protest, it will most likely be at a different location (at least I hope so).
