The water in the kettle quite obviously was cold and this is a plastic well insulated kettle, and the sink is made of stainless steal a conductor of heat, it should therefore dissipate the heat away from the water and into the surrounding around under the sink where its very cold. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 29625138 United Kingdom12/11/2012 09:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hello OP here, I've not had internet for 2 weeks so my IP probably has changed since then because its only a sticky IP and not static so if its not in use it would have been taken by another user on the same ISP, so don't worry if it does not show me as OP. But anyway... No it has not happened again, i'm still baffled as to why the water was warm after sitting in the sink for over 8 hours, I forgot the exact amount of time but I had slept a full 8 hours. I have a theory though and someone in this thread mentioned the same thing, it could have been food in the sink which was rotten and being eaten by bacteria, as the bacteria multiplied that caused the release in heat. Now that's theory I'd like to test to be honest because I'm sceptical that it would generate that much heat on a cold day with no heating running down stairs... |
