Well put. A lot of people still think this is nationalized health care. It's NOT. It's a mandate to buy private insurance or pay for being uninsured. So you're paying the government for NOT having health care.

It's going to cost working people a lot. The more you make, the older you are, the more you pay (a lot more).

I just don't see how many working families are going to be able to afford this, they just aren't. It is going to take so much real wealth (labor) out of the economy at the worst possible time, and we all know where it's going.

Have you seen the rates for those of you in your 40s/50s/early-60s that are dual earners? Have you seen the deductibles you'll be paying? It will make you gasp.

After figuring it out, after all is said and done, I'd have to put out 50% of my NET (yes NET) pay on an annual basis just to cover the healthcare insurance premium and transportation expenses (at 51 cents per mile).

Now, add in ONE inpatient hospital visit in a year, and add in the deductible (at my income/age per the calculator). All it would take would be a broken arm, wrist, etc. and there GOES another 25% net.

Worked all year for 25% of my net pay to have healthcare and pay transportation costs. Yep, the whole year.

I'm not even including if the Bush tax cuts expire and the higher tax bracket we're kicked into because I work. I'm afraid to figure that out. And no we are not even close to $200k a year (I wish). I Pray my husband keeps his private insurance...I really do.

I am now actively looking at other ways to earn that measly 25%...so if I have to go Galt (husband loses his private insurance and forced into government program) I can, I will (providing DH continues with his employment). Then I will support my DH instead of the corp., and government parasites.

They're about to find out. My employer announced just yesterday that our health insurance premiums are jumping 175% next year, although they're subsidizing it for 2013 so that its a mere 50% increase. I'm guessing that a lot of people are going to have similar experiences soon.

That really is the only part of this I'm looking forward to. I'm related to a few of them who've been soooo superior and preachy about how wonderful "Messiah Obama" is. Well, they're about to find out just how wonderful it's all going to be for them as a result of their stupidity.

That opens the door for new business in the healthcare industry, for private insurance providers that would charge less on the premium and cover more of the principal. It may seem like it's going to cost spool much money but anything worth doing is going to cost some thing to do ... How else would it get done , did you expect it to just happen no it takes time and money to get the change we need. Most of that change is going to end up being a well deserved slap in the face to the inner city lower class... They are going to have to realize that if the job doesn't pay enough make a new one. And maybe they'll get off the government tit ...
To those that may complain of the increase outwardly , inwardly have already rationalized it down to how many cafe lattes or what movie not to watch....the ones that haven't got an opinion or don't care because they think oh I'm on assistance the government 'll get it... Well that's what Obama did for this .......... Long he's given thousands in tax returns and rebates ... Increased spending and funding... Essentially providing the inner city lower class recipients in one way the rope ... In another the loaded gun....
Reason being after so many years of receiving free rent food and healthcare , also recieving subsidies from income tax credits from the countless illigitament children ( child bonus on taxes) you should have an ample saved up to pay your own bills start your own companies fund your own comminities develop your own minds .
The sad part (sad because it proves so many stereotypes true of so many)is that after the past four years the average lower class citizens life hasn't improved but in many cases have gotten worse , the prisons are bursting ... The unemoyment and social service offices full and obiesity is on the rise.
Meaning the waste of funds can literally be seen in the fat asses of the unfortunate youth . Think about it if they cant accept the change now and they've bread dumber and less restrained offspring it would only get horribly worse. The opinion of just eliminating the problem has floated around .... But how to identify the problem ? First look at yourself then your family .... Start there .

That's the thing the outdated way of thinking is to say that the private sector would be in competion with the government , not true . The would work in collaboration with the newly added government programs .

That seems to be the problem...Nobody said it's free....first their going to raise our taxes, then your going to pay your monthly fees (Premiums,taxes)or a fine...but you will get a choise...Standard policy 80% deductable, Premium 90% deductable and Premium Plus 100% each step cost more and more and you still have to pay and pay and pay...even if you collect Disablity (SSI,Medicare) you will have to pay. Medicaid, Welfare free. For those that just had to have Socialism for a president. Ain't noth'in free
