My understanding from the Bible is that eating meat is fine as long as one gives thanks for it. (We eat very little meat, but when we do we consciously thank the animal for its meat.) Unless we're in a hurry and forget, which is wrong, but we're human.

Certainly we have a problem in the USA with people consuming HUGE quantities of meat multiple times a day. And that's one of the reason healthcare is out of control...

Also, humanely-raised animals are much healthier to eat, should one choose meat.
