Please, please stop eating meat. | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 27839070 Canada 11/27/2012 08:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ohhhh I KNOW you are right on this one...BUT seriously if we ate only veggies and fruit (which I did for a month) we would wither away to skin and bones. I think we, as human beings have been used to eating meat all of our lives and it would be a shock to our systems to stop cold turkey (no pun intended).... Quoting: DaddysGirl I actually was thinking this very thing this morning as I was frying sausage in the skillet. Meat is my main weakness and I just don't know how I would give it up permanently... THANK YOU for your love for othrs! Well it's good you think.. Everything else in your post is wrong. Not only do fruits, nuts, and vegetables contain everything you need, but the pure source of unaltered proteins and amino acids would built your body leaner, taller and stronger. The only part of you that withers is the fat useless garbage you used to build the in the first place. I appreciate your love, but your words support a very large part of our civilizations down fall. People like you who are uneducated in this very important topic shrug it off like it's not a big deal. Ignorance isn't bliss anymore, it's ignorance. I apologize for my tone, but this kind if the thinking isn't acceptable anymore. We are fucking up, and when this world doesn't end in a month and you all go back to normal, shit will still be getting worse. Blind, chosen ignorance. What a paradox. For the record I eat meat, it tastes amazing. But don't be such a fool. Just cause we do it doesn't mean it's healthy. Moderate. |

Now I do the smart thing and eat SMALL AMOUNTS of everything and am no longer a fat pig. Yes, I know I am a genius. You can be too. BTW I would prefer to eat humanely raised/ killed meat and at every opportunity pay extra to do so. If civilization fell I would kill animals and eat them. I already kill the fish I catch and eat them. When I started jonesing for chicken/birds I know they would not be safe near me. But again, humane death is the key word here. Unskilled hunters suck. |

They live in the moment and react to imminent danger only, their fear does not carry over like ours does. I've seen my horses calmly grazing moments after a tornado took out a bunch of trees in their pasture. That is awesome about animals how they live in the moment. And I do think they have feelings. Tasty, juicy feelings :) Kidding. I seriously do have deep attachments to our animal friends, but I do eat them. I believe in swift death for them, and no abuse. I do think there is a balanced way to raise and kill animals in a very positive way. If you don't believe this then you haven't met enough decent farm folks. Sorry for you. |

I am going on three months now. I think you have to be in the right frame of mind, as I tried years ago and failed. The key is to not replace meat with pasta and bread. I do feel "lighter", but have only lost a few pounds. Just can't stomach the suffering of animals anymore. To each his own......follow your own conscience. Peace to you OP That is the problem I've seen with a few vegan/vegetarian people. Not getting enough protein and eating more carbohydrates in the place of meat. I mean, most of the meat in stores and what is used in restaurants does not even resemble actual meat. My sister is a vegetarian who eats fish. She says that they have no nervous systems, therefore the kill does not cause pain. Anyone know if this is true? I have a weakness for poultry, otherwise I'm good. Tuna fish on lettuce with guacamole (and assorted veggies) is delicious and you don't get the unnecessary calories of salad dressing. Just puttin' that out there. |

Shamar User ID: 24946868 United States 11/28/2012 08:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The passage is a FORGERY. Luke says that Jesus appeared to two disciples who were on their way to Emmaus. One of them was named Clopas. He was invited to their place late on Sunday afternoon. When he broke bread before meal, the two disciples realised that it was Jesus. As soon as they realised this they immediately returned to Jerusalem which was about 10 kilometres from Emmaus. Please note: “And they rose that very hour and returned to Jerusalem; and they found the ELEVEN gathered together, and those who were with them, Saying, Truly our Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon. And they [two disciples] also reported those things that happened on the road, and how they knew him as he broke bread. And while they were discussing these things, Jesus stood among them, and said to them, Peace be with you...and as they still did not believe because of their joy, and they were bewildered, he said to them, Have you anything here to eat? They gave him a portion of BROILED FISH and of a honeycomb. And HE TOOK IT AND ATE BEFORE THEIR EYES” [Luke 24:33-43 KJV]. Luke therefore clearly places Jesus’ first appearance to his disciples on Sunday evening AT JERUSALEM. He says that ALL ELEVEN WERE PRESENT - even though John, who also says that Jesus appeared to his disciples at evening on the “first day of the week” actually says that Thomas was missing. Matthew and Mark however clearly show that Jesus was not in Jerusalem on Sunday evening but was rather in Galilee and therefore he could not have appeared to his disciples in Jerusalem that Sunday evening and he could not have been eating fish that evening. On the night of his arrest, Jesus dsid: “But after I’m raised to life, I’ll go ahead of you to GALILEE” [Mark 14:28]. The angel said to the women at the tomb: “Now go and tell his disciples, and especially Peter, that he will go ahead of you to GALILEE. YOU WILL SEE HIM THERE, JUST AS HE TOLD YOU” [Mark 16:7]. According to the testimony of Mark, Jesus clearly told his disciples that after he is risen from the dead he would go to GALILEE and that is where the disciples were going to see him. Matthew 26:32 also quotes Jesus as telling his disciples that after he is risen from the dead he would go ahead of them to GALILEE: “But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.” Matthew quotes the angel as saying to the women: “...Now hurry! Tell his disciples that he has been raised to life and is on his way to GALILEE. Go there, and you will see him” [Matthew 28:7]. Jesus himself appeared to the women and said: “Don’t be afraid! Tell my followers to go to GALILEE. They’ll see me there” [Matthew 28:10]. Then in Matthew 28:16 we read the following: “Jesus’ ELEVEN DISCIPLES went to a mountain in GALILEE, where Jesus had told them to meet him.” According to Matthew, the ELEVEN APOSTLES went to GALILEE to a mountain Jesus specified. There, IN GALILEE, the disciples saw Jesus for the first time after his resurrection. The account of Luke therefore cannot be reconciled with the text of Mark and especially that of Matthew. Therefore the text of Luke so often cited as proof that Jesus was a meat eater and therefore not a vegetarian - as many sources prove - is a forgery. God said that no testimony can be accepted against someone without at least two witnesses. Luke is the only witness who testifies against Mark and Mathew and therefore his testimony cannot be accepted. I have two witnesses, Mark and Matthew who plainly testify that Jesus was not in Jerusalem at the time and in the place where Luke says he ate fish and therefore on the basis of God’s Law the passage of Luke 24 must be rejected. Anonymous Coward User ID: 28642507 United Kingdom 11/28/2012 02:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | there's a reason why 60% of the world are vegetarians. im going to list the main topics and you can chose to research further. its a big topic and part of the awakening process. just like every other aspect of our society we have been deceived. Ive been a vegetarian for almost a year now. no turning back! - meat causes cancer and many other illnesses - meat causes people to be much more violent and aggressive - slaughter houses are the 2nd highest contributer to "global warming" - adopting a vegetarian diet would wipe out world hunger. the amount of water and grain needed to produce meat is crazy - the hormones added to meat along with other preservatives - its not natural for us to eat meat if we compare ourselves to herbivores - we cant eat meat raw - we cant catch animals without tools - our intestine is too large - fruit and veg have better protein and minerals. - all the biggest herbivores are vegans - protein can only be produced via photosynthesis - do you look at road kill and think yummy - meat has to be seasoned as it tastes vile - we intake the adrenaline and fear from a slaughtered animal - vegans live loner and healthier (the stats say it!) and lots more Ive probably missed. the point is that you only have to look around and you can see it. like bob Marley says follow the advice and listen to the voice within. look at all the KFC and McDonald everywhere. sugar is the fuel for cancer. the cancer industry makes BILLIONS from chemotherapy. chemo is outdated! there are cures out there! MANY CURES!! why is cancer on the increase? it has nothing to do with your genes or DNA. everyone is prone to cancer, its weather your body is capable of fighting it. Your environment and what goes into your body is why people get cancer. also i can understand people may feel its hard. every store we go into is full of this shit. it is made to be hard so you eventually go oh fuck it, or "but it tastes so good" would you eat a human? or a dog? where do you draw the line? How long can you keep saying "because it tastes good" PS. dairy is a huge contribute!! ever wondered why the government are so nice to give pre school kids milk!?... animals are so important with keeping nature balanced too! like the fish in the ocean and livestock replenishing the fields etc heres some info - theres is sooo much out there. if you make the change, well done. it wasnt your fault you we mislead, now you know the truth. Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. - ALBERT EINSTEIN |

The hunters kill/eat the deer, otherwise the deer breed and breed, they run out in front of cars, they get disease and ticks, which spread. They start eating from gardens, so then the non-meat eaters suffer too, right? But the hunter kills a deer and takes one out of the equation to feed his family and is called a savage, or caveman, etc by the people who do not eat meat. Not everything is black and white. I do not like how animals are treated in some slaughter houses. I do my research on how an animal is treated before being processed. If the company (Tyson, for example) is known for being unethical, I do not buy their meat. I do, however, support local butchers. I support local hunters and encourage my husband to bring some meat home for us. That is my opinion on this subject. |
