They think if they lie often enough we will believe it

That is exactly correct. If you say it often enough it will become the truth. With the way this admin fudges numbers anything is possible. Their unemployment numbers are a joke, their housing numbers are incorrect and foreclosures...

Those looking at fundamentals such as household income/debt and sales see more of a Mind Trick being played on the weak-minded. If you can convince me the economy is expanding and inflation is rising, I will be more likely to risk borrowing and spending more than I can afford.

Where I live, survival gear and dried foods are the most popular Christmas gifts. That doesn't sound too confident to me.

I call Bull Shit.

"Consumer confidence rose in November to the highest level in more than four years, a sign U.S. household spending will keep growing.

The Conference Board’s confidence index climbed to 73.7, the highest since February 2008, from a revised 73.1 reading the prior month, figures from the New York-based private research group showed today. The median forecast of 75 economists surveyed by Bloomberg projected a reading of 73."

I don't know about anyone else, but we've had to buy several large ticket items this fall. They were old and just worn out. We really didn't want to buy a new washing machine, but there isn't a good repairman here anymore.

We don't go shopping on Black Friday, but we had to this year. Youngest son had to get a new backpack before he went back to school. The zipper broke on the way home. There weren't ANY crowds at our mall. The mall wasn't busy last year during December, either.

I wonder how many people are like us. Stuff is just worn out and can't be repaired anymore.

It's probably like the unemployment number, they're only counting people who are spending money.

Damn, son...who pissed you off today? Get it right, I'm just a bitch! Sorry, the washer was 20 years old and we couldn't get the parts. The backpack was a piece of shit that wasn't worth fixing and, yes, I DO know how to fix zippers. I DO know how to fix my own plumbing, do my own landscaping/gardening, raise animals, can food, etc., etc. Also, I DO know how to trap, skin, fish, and hunt. SO...anything else, baby?

The elimination of tens of millions of useless and mindless American cattle. They deserve it. It's their only purpose - to be fattened up and slaughtered like swine.
