She certainly could not have sit in an emergency exit row, so that means she could render the aircraft a death trap if there was an emergency evacuation & she blocked exit for other people.

I am sorry this happened to her, but I would not want to get trapped in a burning aircraft because another passenger was a human barrier.

Exactly what I was thinking. At some point you become a safety risk to everyone else on the plane in case of an emergency.

Then I demand that all amputees, people in wheelchairs, people with crutches, the elderly and infants are also banned from flights since they pose a safety risk to everyone else.

Still, there do have to be limits on things and while that is horrible to have to do to anyone, there are other ways to travel. (Boat in this case. No one thinks about that one anymore however...)

I don't want to punish people for being fat, or ridicule them. It's simply that physical properties, such as the floors of aircraft are designed for specific weights.

They start to have strain problems with anyone over a certain weight or concentration of foot fall. (Women with high heels are actually the worst obstacle. The concentration of forces is so great that the floors have to be an extra eights of an inch thick just for that.)

It's horrible to have to tell someone that they aren't allowed to travel due to things like that, but unless everyone else in the world is going to be expected to pay a lot more per trip to accommodate them, it has to be done.

She was likely very sick at that point. The airline reserved three seats for her but she was so heavy they couldn't get her out of the wheel chair. They tried to move her for 30 minutes and had to give up. I would hardly say the airlines are at fault.
