#1 California going insolvent.

#2 Radiation from Fukushima coming over to California fully strong, to really sicken people.

#3 Prisons are busting @ seams and not economically to hold dangerous people anymore, that's why Federal Judges and FBI old agents are quitting in large quantity. Plus maybe California Jails/Prisons are having major break outs.

Very strange, an Emergeny Warning (Test) was on TNT channel. It was specifically for Los Angeles county? I live in Tx but I've never heard a Warning Test for a specific?

JuVeryst wanted to say that I was just trying to add some perspective to the nature of the circumstances being discussed. Not to create alarm/panic/fear. I don't think we should live in fear of the inevitable fate we will all come to experience regardless (departure from these physical vessels). Exercising caution is advisible in moderation but we should not live in fear of nature or of the forces of the Universe as ultimately we are subject to the whim of these forces as they exist outside of our control. : )

I stand corrected. I went back and looked at the weather report and we have a slight chance of rain here. I was just trying to reassure the OP that things in southern California will be just fine. The storm is hitting Northern and Central California.

Just wanted to comment on how poorly coordinated the emergency services and preparedness is of this country. For someone in Ohio to be receiving emergency alerts for residents of California, it's not good news.

Last year I think we had a testing of the national emeThrgency alert system, and many parts of the country received no warning at all! It failed. In the event of a real disaster, these services cannot be relied upon (IMHO).

Half the people on here from Cali aren't nervous. Instead of sitting in front of your computer being nervous, you should be listing what you may need. Then get prepared. Just extra water, batteries, and fill up your tank, just to name a few. Look at the Sandy people, half of them thought they would be fine then BAM

Shoulda, coulda, woulda.... hindsight won't keep you safe. This is mainly high winds up No Cal. that could knock out the power. Are people prepared for that?
