Chinese man blows £100,000 life savings on building an ark to 'escape the impending Mayan apocalypse'

No, God didn't reveal himself to this Chinese man in a vision.
But it seems Lu Zhenghai has been reading about the Mayan prophecy that predicts the end of the world on December 21.
He is so afraid of the rumours he has spent his whole life savings trying to build his very own apocalypse-proof 'Noah's Ark'.

Does that thing look like it could eat float let alone take a small 5 foot wave?

Vodka-loaded apocalypse kits go on sale in Siberia

By Joycebabu on November 26, 2012 | From prokerala.com

An apocalypse kit that went on sale in Tomsk in western Siberia contains a bottle of vodka, reported RIA Novosti.

Besides vodka, the kit contains a pack of buckwheat, a can of fish, some candles and matches, a notepad and pencil, medication, including heart medicine, and soap and a rope.

It also contains an ID card to be filled out by hand "in case your ID cards demagnetize" and an instruction card spelling out various games to alleviate apocalypse-related boredom.

The kits - produced by a bridal party operator - are available in bright yellow and glamorous pink and cost a modest 890 rubles ($27) apiece.

I'm guessing the rope is for those survivors who refuse to use the soap

...although that's what I always thought the vodka was for

To know means to know all. Not to know all means not to know. In order to know all, it is only necessary to know a little. But, in order to know this little, it is first necessary to know pretty much.
