My family had a very hard time last year. I did not even know where to ask for help...we are white...used to having money before layoffs came. We made 15k last year...no one offered to help us and redid not want to beg so we just did without. This year hub has a cheaply jib with no benefits...it is 23k/yr. I have a part time that puts us right over limits for food stamps. We are educated but no jobs here...they do not teach whites where to go for help...there are no signs at the library unless they are in Spanish?

You know, illegals have been some of the worst at using children as pawns . . . they put them out there in protests, holding signs with messages to guilt people into feeling sorry for the children. People who do that are lowdown.

The "system" seems to work quite well for black and hispanics - and of course, they know how to work the system, too, and have been for decades. Only difference now is that the gov has stepped up its handouts and apparently loves to roll out the red carpet for border-crossing criminals and anchor babies.

No other country does for immigrants what America does, and it's NOT our government providing for them, it's us, the working citizens providing for them.

Basically, I wouldn't go to a pound and adopt a pet if I knew I'd have to charge my neighbors for my "generosity" so why are we adopting 100's of thousands of "pets" we can't really afford to feed and vet without neglecting our own family's needs (robbing Peter to pay Paul?).

Isn't it a bit ironic we can't take care of our own, but are going to adopt some more and FORCE our neighbors to feed them on OUR behalf since we are such kind and generous neighbors to take in all these strays?

It's easy to be kind with other people's labor/money. Must be nice not to have to worry about where your next meal is coming from, generosity of your American neighbor, but who the hell cares if the American eats right? That's what I'm getting from some of these posts.
