Angus T. Jones, the "half" in CBS's hit show "Two and a Half Men" says he wishes people would stop watching the show. The 19-year-old was interviewed by Forerunner Christian Church about his recent conversion and told audiences that he regrets "contributing to the enemy's plan." "You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that. I know I can't... There's no playing around when it comes to eternity." Jones, who signed the contract for his 10th season before becoming a Seventh Day Adventist, encouraged viewers to "stop filling your head with filth." "People say it's just entertainment... [but] do some research on the effects of television and your brain." Still, Jones said, even though the show has nothing to do with God, he knows he's been called there for a reason. Let's hope one of those reasons is inspiring other young people to find their voice on values in entertainment. If more teenagers could tap into Angus's courage and fight for their beliefs, our culture would be a very different place! [ link to www.latimes.com] |
