South Florida Beach Emergency

Born and raised in Miami and a few things come to mind.

Ive never seen that much intensity in the waves. I spent my childhood always wondering why our beaches were so calm as compared to what I would see on other coasts.

2. All throughout elementary school we would take a field trip every year to the museum and literally get told as kids that by the time we were older our state would be under water. There was a "cool" display of the state and you would move a lever over to the right, and as it slid - the water level would rise and cover the state until almost Georgia. That was a common theme in all of my schools every year. "Florida is at sea level and it will get covered, etc"

So 7 years ago I started going through crazy anxieties and out of no where up and moved North because I wouldn't stop hearing warnings from people about this. My family won't listen, my friends won't listen, and here I am watching them sink.

I live in the mountains now and have been joking for years that I'm making the new Miami up here because it will be beach front property one day. I don't know what else to think about all this, except that I never imagined I'd be watching a video like these with the coast.

Add how New York was flooded (record floods) and large sections of New Jersey are sealed from the public due to "Sandies Aftermath".

This might be across the entire east coast!

Also, west coast is having high seas as well due to a storm........could be another BS story to cover up ocean rise.

Actually if you look at the floods in the UK this last few days it does beg the question as to how so much standing water has flooded the UK when there really wasnt that much rain in terms of rainfall

Oh the climate is changing alright, and it has nothing to do with our driving habits or how much cows are burping. My bet is on the interaction of our heliosphere with the increasing particle density of the intergalactic plasma/dust cloud that we are passing through. If the density becomes great enough to push the heliosphere back past earth's orbit, then things are going to become really interesting.

I live in St Johns county, Fl, the beaches are disapearing, dunes are gone, the water is creeping up slowly but surely, Homeowners are nervous, no insurance company's will insure these homes.,and who would buy a home on these beaches. Pretty scary for the homeowners.

Some of Kiribati's 32 pancake-flat coral atolls, which straddle the equator over 1,350,000 square miles of ocean, are already disappearing beneath the waves.

Most of its 113,000 people are crammed on to Tarawa, the administrative centre, a chain of islets which curve in a horseshoe shape around a lagoon.

"This is the last resort, there's no way out of this one," Mr Tong said.

"Our people will have to move as the tides have reached our homes and villages."
