South Florida Beach Emergency | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 27523405 United States 11/28/2012 01:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ive never seen that much intensity in the waves. I spent my childhood always wondering why our beaches were so calm as compared to what I would see on other coasts. 2. All throughout elementary school we would take a field trip every year to the museum and literally get told as kids that by the time we were older our state would be under water. There was a "cool" display of the state and you would move a lever over to the right, and as it slid - the water level would rise and cover the state until almost Georgia. That was a common theme in all of my schools every year. "Florida is at sea level and it will get covered, etc" So 7 years ago I started going through crazy anxieties and out of no where up and moved North because I wouldn't stop hearing warnings from people about this. My family won't listen, my friends won't listen, and here I am watching them sink. I live in the mountains now and have been joking for years that I'm making the new Miami up here because it will be beach front property one day. I don't know what else to think about all this, except that I never imagined I'd be watching a video like these with the coast. |

Remember all those maps of our coastlines underwater? Is the coastal flooding happening sooner than they say? What Could Disappear - Maps show coastal and low-lying areas that would be permanently flooded, without engineered protection, in three levels of higher seas. Percentages are the portion of dry, habitable land within the city limits of places listed that would be permanently submerged. [link to www.nytimes.com] |

Lauderdale Quoting: SeaPunk now all that beach and wall and most of the sidewalk missing THAT puts it into perspective! Worse than I had in my head, even after seeing the news clip. That is devastation. Sheesh! Time to get the hell off the coasts... How is this affecting Louisiana, I wonder???? Or is it? can any of you read a map?this is the east coast of florida, louisiana is in the gulf and new orleans is below sea level, hence the walls around it.the whole continent is tilting.there are geologists that have placed gps beacons around the great lakes.the northern shores are rising and the southern shores are sinking.the great lakes themselves are less than 10,000 years old.i guess roasting all that wild game caused climate change.we are going thru a natural cycle of change.by the way the graet lakes are at a record low.florida was once under water and looks like it will be again.stop building on the beach i am sick of paying for it Hey, asstard, I can read a map. :-) I'm just thinking if this is happening on the coast of Florida AND other places, that there may be a high probability of it happening on other coasts around the world...If the water is rising, maybe it'll rise everywhere....a thought that has nothing to do with the ability to read a map. Have a lovely day. "Don't look back, you're not going that way." "As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” |
jimmy007 User ID: 1557020 United States 11/28/2012 02:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | there was a thread about this a few days back...also happening up the east coast the ocean is moving in, reclaiming land they had said the east coast of the US would be hit the worst, as the ice of Greenland melts but somehow "they" aren't saying a word to warn people or get them out of harms way...just kinda letting em figure it out for themselves Plenty of people are talking about it, but here at GLP anyone who mentions climate change is a shill and a liar and a tool. People hear what they want, and believe comforting lies over the truth. I think they are only called "shills" as it refers to man made al gore stuff. I dont think anyone would argue, that there are changes afoot....question is the cause jimmy |

THe beach was somewhat shorter there, so it got affected easier.. I went from 3 miles south and then up to another 3 miles north and I'm telling you guys, the beach is affected EVERYWHERE. The news stories are bullshit and failing to mention this. In some areas, yes, the water is FAR from the roads still, however, the beach itself is at least 50 to 100 feet shorter.. Something is up. There has been no storms, no severely windy weather like they claim. People are so fucking ignorant, making excuses, talking about how to use "preventative planning" for when this happens in the future, etc.. What they AREN'T talking about is that it hasn't stopped! Tis isn't a matter of erosion simply decreasing the beach. It's clearly a matter of the water itself rising, moving farther inland and obviously, yes, decreasing the beach area naturally. I honestly think people are in for a big surprise if they think this can be dredged, or that sand can be added, etc.. The high water is here to stay in my opinion and it's only going to increase by the day. Add how New York was flooded (record floods) and large sections of New Jersey are sealed from the public due to "Sandies Aftermath". This might be across the entire east coast! |

My bet is on the interaction of our heliosphere with the increasing particle density of the intergalactic plasma/dust cloud that we are passing through. If the density becomes great enough to push the heliosphere back past earth's orbit, then things are going to become really interesting. |

[link to www.telegraph.co.uk] In what could be the world's first climate-induced migration of modern times, Anote Tong, the Kiribati president, said he was in talks with Fiji's military government to buy up to 5,000 acres of freehold land on which his countrymen could be housed. Some of Kiribati's 32 pancake-flat coral atolls, which straddle the equator over 1,350,000 square miles of ocean, are already disappearing beneath the waves. Most of its 113,000 people are crammed on to Tarawa, the administrative centre, a chain of islets which curve in a horseshoe shape around a lagoon. "This is the last resort, there's no way out of this one," Mr Tong said. "Our people will have to move as the tides have reached our homes and villages." Now who looks like a shill, shill? |
