Re: South Florida Beach Emergency
to give you an idea this is what it use to look like A1A Ft. Lauderdale

now all that beach and wall and most of the sidewalk missing

 Quoting: SeaPunk

THAT puts it into perspective! Worse than I had in my head, even after seeing the news clip.

That is devastation. Sheesh! Time to get the hell off the coasts...

How is this affecting Louisiana, I wonder???? Or is it?
 Quoting: StormeyGoddess

can any of you read a map?this is the east coast of florida, louisiana is in the gulf and new orleans is below sea level, hence the walls around it.the whole continent is tilting.there are geologists that have placed gps beacons around the great lakes.the northern shores are rising and the southern shores are sinking.the great lakes themselves are less than 10,000 years old.i guess roasting all that wild game caused climate change.we are going thru a natural cycle of change.by the way the graet lakes are at a record low.florida was once under water and looks like it will be again.stop building on the beach i am sick of paying for it
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27889364

Hey, asstard, I can read a map. :-) I'm just thinking if this is happening on the coast of Florida AND other places, that there may be a high probability of it happening on other coasts around the world...If the water is rising, maybe it'll rise everywhere....a thought that has nothing to do with the ability to read a map. Have a lovely day.
 Quoting: StormeyGoddess

I am with you, I would say that any meaningful water rise is going to be every where. This issues is from setteling IMO. I am going to the NC east coast this weekend and I'll see it is different there.

Re: South Florida Beach Emergency
Two main factors contributed to observed sea level rise. The first is thermal expansion: as ocean water warms, it expands.

The second is from the contribution of land-based ice due to increased melting

Between 1870 and 2004, Global average sea levels rose 17 cm

From 1950 to 2009, measurements show an average annual rise in sea level of 1.7 ± 0.3 mm with satellite data showing a rise of 3.3 ± 0.4 mm from 1993 to 2009, a faster rate of increase than originally estimated.

State Road A1A is a Florida State Road that runs mostly along the Atlantic Ocean, with sections from Key West at the southern tip of Florida, to Fernandina Beach, just south of Georgia on Amelia Island. It is the main road through most oceanfront towns. SR A1A is designated the A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Highway, a National Scenic Byway. It is also called the Indian River Lagoon Scenic Highway from Wabasso Causeway to U.S. Route 1 in Cocoa.

Wake up everybody. There are only a few things that can cause this. Well ok three and none are good.

First your sinking. Thats not a stretch as Pakistan has sunk 10 feet since this time last year as recorded and documented by Nasa's Earth watch Satelite.

Second. The water is moving towards the poles. The poles attract water towards them and seeing how the poles have moved 40 degrees and are now in the Red Zone for a Pole Shift this could also be the cause of the water moving inland.

Third. The ocean levels. I don't think this is the cause. Jakarta has had a tide roll in that won't recede right now and is getting inundated by water.

Combodia and Veitnam Sinking along the coast. Same as other area's of the coast are experiencing this World Wide. Uk under water right now.

I'm just going to throw this one out there. Is there somthing wrong with the MOON. Is this the Planetary Alignment of December 3rd....? Giza Pyramid Conjunction.

Is this the instability all along the East Coast my Dad has been warning the people of Louisianna about in conjunction with the sinkhole. Get the hell off the Coast.

Somthing is coming very soon. Its going to be bad when it happens. I think the Pole Shift is Near. Very Near.

Certain parts of the coast must be sinking.

If that was the case (and it may be), seems that there would be multiple reports of nearby structural damage to some of the local hotels and infrastructure?

Its just the high tide associated with the full moon and lack of beach.... Since the beach is gone the water can only go up on the street. Has nothing to do with rising sea levels only erroded beaches and full moon tide. If they dont get some sand up on the beaches quick, its going to get progressively worse with the wonter fronts that come through when the wind comes out of the Northeast

This is not just high tide and beach erosion....

I don't think beach erosion is the proper phrase here...more like the ocean swallowed the beach whole...

So I don't understand how she could get trapped under a catamaran and unable to get to the surface. Strange. Sorry for her loss.

You know, I personally think ZetaTalk is BS but it's obvious that this was not their original content (written by them) and I am inclined to believe it.. The below statement seems almost exactly on par with what is happening right now:

"The increasingly violent wobble will bring high tides to Florida, almost without warning and so erratic that predictions will be impossible. Then there are the Last Weeks, where the tides will rush north and south during the severe wobble, 200-300 feet high. Florida will not survive the severe wobble, clearly, as the entire state is under water at a 200 foot level. Florida will then be pulled down 150 feet during rotation stoppage, a permanent loss of elevation. And in the Aftertime Florida will be merely a memory, being well under 825 feet of water where it formerly was at sea level. Since survival in south Florida is not possible, what are you waiting for? Move!"

I live right on/off A1A in Northern Florida and have seen Zero changes - No flooding.

Now, after that storm at the beginning of the summer (was it Amelia? I can't recall, sorry) we did have AWFUL Flooding and it was so profound I posted pics of it on Fbook. We even 'surfed the tube' in my CAR & I have a great photo of it -- with the wave going over the top of the roof of my Eos!

But during and after Sandy....Nothing. We were busy praying for NY, NJ and all our friends up North, on the Northern Atlantic Coastline.

Those pics of Ft. Lauderdale ARE disturbing, and I truly hope & pray that we don't have to deal with that here, but at this time, all of our beaches/coastline are the same as always. No flooding, no encroaching, no unusual erosion.
