Yeah of course there are dumbshits out there who spend 50$ a month on it but there are many more people who just buy one occasionally. I play maybe 5-6 times a year when I am at the register and have a few crumpled singles or too much change in my pocket. Will I win? Almost certainly not. If I did would I be stoked? Fuck yah. Pick from computer a combination nobody picked. 2. Mix cuts of balls spinning around in the "wheel of fortune" with the cut of each ball part of the "winning" pick coming to a stop at the end of the tube. EVERYONE can see that each ball exiting the wheel is NOT rolling down the tube, there are ALWAYS TWO seperate sequences. What the cut does not show: somebody dropped the ball by hand on that tube. Background music and the TV presentator with an angelic face repeating that "it is all under control" is all it takes to convince the human cattle that the ball spinning in the wheel is the same ball rolling down the exit tube... amywood71605 User ID: 28600426 United States 11/28/2012 08:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have NEVER bought a Power Ball ticket before. But, they had a raffle at work, and I was the one name drawn - won $50.00. I know that's not a lot but I seriously NEVER win anything. So, I took the $50, bought one Power Ball ticket and a couple scratch off tickets - haven't scratched them yet. The rest I'll add to our savings (every little big helps). I figure if I was lucky enough to win something (when I seriously never have before), that maybe it was a good sign, haha. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1347486 United States 11/28/2012 09:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Look folks, as a semi-frequent lottery player, I am well aware of the odds and how, over the course of my lifetime, the chances of me winning are incredibly slim. However, I also understand that I will never be wealthy due to my chosen line of work (which I am happy with), and the money that I outlay over the years would never equate to a retirement 'nest-egg' anyway. Where else in society can you get exposure to the possibility of financial freedom? Oh, and don't mention I should work harder and save...I bust my ass everyday, and in the economic conditions we are in now, there is no investment that promises any significant return. I view the few dollars I spend as extremely high risk investments, with the expectation of losing the principal. At the same time, lotteries exist because people win, and you might take a moment to consider how many millionaires the lottery has produced...dozens in my state alone last year. |
