Why Would Someone Want An Abortion?

Sometimes I wonder why so many women are so adamant about keeping abortion legal. Personally, I think a woman should technically have that freedom, but I don't know why she would even want it in the first place.

I mean, the procedure involved in an abortion is like something out of a horror movie. A woman must be unclothed with her legs spread open while a stranger pokes around in the most intimate parts of her body, and then that stranger rather violently rips out and murders the life that was growing inside her.

It seems like it'd be easier to just not have sex. I mean, what's the point of creating a baby if you're just going to kill it anyway? I suppose in the case of rape a woman might not want the baby, but going through an abortion almost seems like being raped twice.

I'm not even trying to pass judgment. I'm concerned for the way women feel about themselves, with how they respect themselves, because women who support abortions seem to act as if being able to have an abortion somehow empowers women, which seems ironic considering that the procedure itself is so degrading. It just seems like a horrible thing for a woman to go through, and so it perplexes me a little why so many women fight for it as if it's something that's normal and okay.
