Re: Soul mates
What if you find that "soul mate" but yet he is taken?

It is so hard not to compare everyone else to the feelings the "one" evokes.

That is my dilemma. The one I have found will never be mine but I can't stop comparing others to him.
 Quoting: NothingFancy

You are suffering from limerence. Once you're with him for 5 years and experienced all the ups and downs of a real relationship come back and tell us he's perfect.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22788475

It's easy to say it's limerence, a crush, a cute liking. I used to think soul mates...all that crap was just fairy tales, selling points in romantic movies. Until it happened to me...

I wish it were that simple. But when you have a draw, a connection, a magnetic pull to another, it's a whole different experience. And when you know they feel that same crazy way... It's like nothing else, and it takes over your mind, makes you feel alive when you meet that person. It's unreal...but sucks and creates that pit in your stomach when you realize they are with someone else. And you can't say anything b/c they are with someone else. It's a prison we build with our own minds, with these emotions....but talking about love is like dancing about architecture.

Yes, they exist. You will know when you meet one because you will not be able to stop thinking about him/her.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18607329

It's awesome if you can get with them, but sucks the life out of you if they are with someone else. And you can tell it's not working out with them, yet they prefer to stay with the other one. Heartbreaking....

Re: Soul mates
I know my soulmate. The feeling is mutual.

Still she chose others and has a family now.

Neil Young's spng The Loner resonates with me:

"On the day that she left, he died, but it did not show"

We do keep contact though which is hard sometimes.
 Quoting: tuuuuur

Mine too. I married her, but work took me far away for a couple of years which was too much for her and she too chose others.

We talk via email sometimes, I try and act like I'm ok, happy with where I am now, but truthfully it rips me up something awful inside.

I'm with someone else too but the affection, love, friendship, and soul connection is just not there.

Re: Soul mates
In this 3rd dimensional hollow gram where we are at present one can get together with a soul mate as there are potentially many depending on what assignment you are on in this lifetime. Soul mates are people from your same soul group or others who you had past lives with. I met a couple of them in the past and I went all funny inside for a while and then came back to earth. The twin flame is a different thing, it is the other part of yourself so if you are a male in this life time it will be female and vice versa. You will never meet your twin flame in this hollow gram in the 3rd dimension but in the higher parts of the 4th and the 5th it will happen. I am looking forward to meeting my twin flame sometime soon. There is nothing I will miss in this world except my tractor and sometimes I miss the sheep.

The chances are good. However, I doubt that there is only one true soul mate. I happened to find a soul mate very early on, and we are a great match. But that does not mean that if we divorced tomorrow that I could not find another man who could make me as equally happy.

What do you think the chances of finding your soul mate are?
Do you think that for each of us the ONE exists in this lifetime?

More realistically, is it that we can just find people to be with happily til the end?
 Quoting: Qarley

I think that we have several soul mates and we are in constant contact with them. I believe that they are souls that we reincarnate with to fulfill different roles each lifetime, to teach and learn.

I believe there is one twin flame though, however. I imagine some people find that one and some don't. hf

I like your response. Many of the responses here actually. I don't always respond to them because the point of this thread was for everyone to share their opinion so everybody can have a realistic view on love.

I think there are many soul mates and one twin flame. I think that to find these are very difficult.

So now im curious. Is it better to settle? Or is it better to keep to yourself until you are privileged enough to find one...?

I would agree. The thing about love is it comes in many forms. You can be happy and love people and life without finding the one. To find that is a blessing. You should carry on with your journey. Take every experience for what it is worth and learn to love yourself. Maybe in that process you will get lucky.

If you don't it's not so bad. You have learned self love and loved others and grown and done everything else that life expects from you.

To quote one of my favorite songs..

Yes, they exist.
But each story is so individual and this is good, it fits to your soulpath.
Chances of finding your soulmate are good, if your soul is ready to meet. Actually, when you´re ready, you will meet him/her. I wrote a bit about that in my thread under Reunion of the Twinflames.

Thread: The SYNCHRONISTIC universe and how to invent the unthinkable . . .

There are many names for this, I had to give it one, though I don´t like all of those...
Just let loose of the words and phrases and rather enjoy the story more.

What do you think the chances of finding your soul mate are?
Do you think that for each of us the ONE exists in this lifetime?

More realistically, is it that we can just find people to be with happily til the end?

I am in the exact place. I don't know how to cope...move on. How long have you known this soul mate?

Have you let them know how you feel? Or because they are with someone, you backed away? Do you still talk to them?

How the hell do you cope?

Does he show he feels the same way? And if he's taken, do you assume if he stays with her, he probably doesn't feel the same way?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24512322

I have known him a little over two years. He is my best friend. We talk all the time. He has been there for me for every obstacle and every problem in this time period.

I do not know what I would do without him. I told him how I felt and then backed off. I didn't want the friendship to be under false pretenses. I stopped talking to him for well over a week and he contacted me because he missed our friendship.

I do not know how he feels. He isn't the "emotional" type. I honestly don't ask questions that I may not like to hear the answers to. Therefore, I accept the boundaries and wish for what may be. Maybe someday.

Is regret or rejection better to live with?

That's the question I deal with.

I posted another thread on how to move on from a soul connection, and it seems like it impossible at the moment.

As someone else respond, accepting "What Is" is a VERY hard.

And not being able to tell him how I feel kills me. I feel like if he rejects me, I can move on. But since he's a taken man, I feel like it's wrong to even tell him.

In my case, I am able to tell how I feel, but that doesn't help... she feels the same way (she said once she felt we were like one soul) but just chooses not to do anything with those feelings. It's 18 years ago since I first met her (which was accompanied by a shock, and an immediate recognition on both sides).

I wish I knew that answer! I am debating it.

I wish I never met mine, since it makes it impossible to look at anyone else. I have this conflict of trying to move on, even though they are and have been in a relationship. I've known them for a year. I can remember exactly what they were wearing. I felt like I knew him before, from like high school I thought. His blue eyes looked so familiar, and would soon just break my heart.

Everyone can tell he and the girl he's with, they just don't fit together right. I think he has feelings for me, I can tell from the look in his eyes, but if he's still with her, there's nothing I can do about it. I stopped talking to him, since I felt led on in a way. And we are at work, I felt like I needed to focus on my work. But to meet someone and feel this way, I never thought I could feel this way.

I don't want to settle. But I don't know what's the norm.

Re: Soul mates
Moronic concept.

Not only is there no such thing as a soul, but relationships and love are built on chemical reactions in the brain.

Even if there was a soul, it would have nothing to do with building a loving relationship.

There is not just one person out there for someone. The concept is moronic. Also there are more females than males in the world. This one to one ratio does not hold up.

God also must have fucked over the Chinese because the current generation is 60 million females short...

Re: Soul mates
Soulmate means people from the same 'soul group'.
It doesnt have to be a men-woman or sexual relationship necessarily.
My souk mate is a friend. We are both male an straight. We are friends. But we know we belong to the same soul group. We share lots of the same energy per say. We are soulmates.

Also, we are not all here going to find a soulmate in this lifetime. It depends on ur experiences, on what you need this time around.
You may call urself lucky and blessed if u find a soulmate AND be able to have a marital relashionshipwith such.

So.. NOT like the moronic hypothesis on the first page.

Yeah, I agree...but it would be awesome if you were sexually attracted to each other...That would be the ultimate "soul mate"...

HAHAHAHA. so THATS what you do in your spare time...
"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
