Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20757663 Good luck with finding a good vet my friend. I hope your four legged family member makes a speedy recovery. I hate it when vets get excited like that. Is it a first for them or are they looking at the tasty bill afterwards. 11 years of vet visits with my first boy ( he had a intussusception ) thousands of dollars later and every cent was worth it. The first vet told me he wouldn1t live past 5 months old. Had him for 11.5 yrs. Damn I loved that dog . Best of luck to you and you baby ! |

Ask some local people.. In the mean time..make him as comfy as you can..hernia really cant be fixed without surgery. Will probably be expensive..unfortunately..could also be twisted intestine..etc..wont know without xray. Im sorry your baby is having the troubles. Do not read this sentence. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 26448516 United Kingdom 11/28/2012 11:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My little boy had hernias....he had surgery for the first one then I noticed something not quite right a couple of months later and then he needed surgery the other side of his groin......all before he was 3 , the first one was quite big and would sink down into his scrotum which would go black....he would cry a lot and refuse to walk , I was told to lay him down and hold his legs up so it could go "back"....yep it did work but obviously before the surgery it would then recur when he got up and walked /ran about....its a hole in the stomach wall and the intestines work their way through and cause the swelling.....pretty tough situation for little kids and dogs which both like to run about .....if finances are tight why not contact an animal charity to see if they will help you with the cost to get your dog fixed......and I d definitely go to a different vet , it would piss me off if a vet was creaming in his pants over my dogs condition.... |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26448516 This type of hernia is bulging one side of his Butt,When he barks you can see it really bulge out...My stepfather said he would foot the bill as he really likes Bear,Yea, That 1st vet really makes me nervous, He seemed like he was on speed...Here is a Pic of Bear, he is Chow/Shepard and a hell of a good dog...
