my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer.

those fuckers told me (a 16 year old kid at the time) to drive her to the hospital to get "treatments"


on the way there we chatted like always talked about playing some cards next week as we often did. (mostly kings in the corner or hearts). She seemed fine and could probably live for years with natural treatments of whole food and excercise.


Went in the room deep in hospital, signed in, talked, she was nervous. they called her name she walked back and they shut the door


hour or so later they wheeled her out in a wheel chair??????

WTF this is TREATMENT?


She was gone. Her mind her body shot from that day on died 3 months later a drooling brainless zombie.

My 79 year old -normally lucid- mother began having delusions last summer. She lived in a personal care home and they called me to ask permission to have her evaluated. They sent her to a psychiatrist who diagnosed her with late onset Schizophrenia. I was shocked and never though to question this diagnosis. Because of delays in treatment she declined tremendously. She had an incident in which the facility staff claimed she was a flight risk so they sent her to the hospital because she was a danger to herself.

Once at the hospital she improved greatly and other than the ocassional delusion, had no issues with her behaviors. However, she could not go back to her previous facility because she was now considered a flight risk and the social workers could not find her a nursing facility because she was now fairly normal. No one wanted to risk her running away.

After six weeks of being stuck in the hospital I got mad and started seeking outside help for my mom through an elderly advocacy organization. I know alot of thing about medical issues due to my job, but Alzheimer's and Dementia are not something I am knowledgeable about. I am now.

I found out that the drugs, doctors and lapse in time for treatment were all wrong, so I called in enough experts and insisted they start mom's evaluation all over again, this time with a neurologist who specializes in the geriatric population (like should have been the first doctor to be seen).

After medical testing and evaluation mom's diagnosis was changed to Dementia, with early Alzheimer's. She was taken off of her anti-psychotic drug and placed on the proper drug for her condition. Within a week, she improved even more than she had when she entered the hospital and it seems anti-psychotic drug was worsening her delusions. She is now almost back to her normal self, but not quite.

Regardless, because she was labeled a flight risk prior to being properly diagnosed, getting her in a long term nursing facility was not happening. She finally was sent to a wretched place and I could not take her out and bring her home because I was told I could be considered neglecting her care because long term nursing was the professional reccomendation. I had no choice then but to take action on the original personal care facility and charge them with neglect and incompetence of my mother's original medical care.

After an investigation, the perverbial shit has hit the fan and she is being re-evaluated and the original facility will be overseeing her placement in a new long term facility with higher standards where her rights will not be violated daily.

Sorry this is so long. I used cliff notes the best I could and still explain. The moral of the story is that everyone should be sure to inform themselves when their elderly parent has medical issues to be sure they are not railroaded just to get them out of the way. Evidently this is a serious issue that happens often. Unfortunately, I was too trusting of the medical people caring for mom and I know better now.

The story above about Dementia, my experience with grandma's treatment.


Just these two stories alone should be enough to collapse and re evaluate the entire medical establishment.


And there are millions more cases just like these or worse.

Please PEOPLE CAREFULLY CONSIDER THE DANGERS OF MODERN MEDICINE. PLEASE CONSIDER THE BENEFITS OF PROPER DIET/CLEAN WATER/WHOLE FOOD, EXERCISE, AND HERBS WHEN YOU NEED THEM.

I pray that the greed demons that run POISON CARE today are cast out for all to see and we can finally get some resolution to this MADNESS in the Medical industry.

This is why the current state of the medical system scares me so much. When we're young we can hopefully recover from most of the damage it does and "try, try again" until we find an actual health solution, but the elderly don't always have that to fall back on :(

I had to relearn how to walk while they're making fat bucks at the children's hospital.
I don't need an apology. I just want them to be real with me.

It's a big business though, their purpose is to maximize profits first, and keep people healthy second.

for about a year i had recurring utis. since i was college aged, the doctor kept insisting that i probably had chlamydia or some other std. it's kinda funny now, but at the time i resented being automatically assumed a diseased whore, FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR, lol, especially since i was nerdy and had no sexual partners. anyway, i decided to do my own medical detective work to try and stop the utis myself. luckily it didn't take long, because around that time we dismantled our soda machine at work, at the behest of the exterminator, and found a huge nest of rats, who had been shitting on the soda cans. once they were gone and i stopped drinking rat shit soda out of the can, i never got another uti. lol. the end.

Here's mine:

I was 11 yrs old and my parents were divorcing. I was losing weight and having stomach issues, due to stress. Doctor puts me in the hospital and they run every type of test imaginable, looking for cancer. No cancer is found. They cut me open for surgery to look for cancer; still no cancer. They decided to remove my appendix for no reason, at all. I'm fine now but terrified of hospitals. The doctor is now on the run from the Feds for fraudulent Medicare payments that he stole.

Doctors are only trained to cut you open and give you pills. It's a travesty.

I don't really have time to get into the entire story, but here's a quick run at it:

My wife was injured in a serious car wreck before we met. She was comatose for some time and then had to learn how to walk and talk again.

We met, dated a long, long time and then got married.

One day about 3 years into the marriage my wife wakes up with the worst headache she has ever experienced.

Took her to a Doctor, who said it was "stress" and put her on Prozac. The headache remained.

We went to 10 different Doctors and specialists to try to get this headache to go away and finally after tons of tests, MRI's and the like they announced she has severe damage to parts of her brain and spine from the wreck and that's where the pain came from.

Then they showed us out the door without any sort of prescription or suggestion about what to do about this pain.

I finally ran into an old friend who told me about this pain specialist, I took her to see him and he began treating her right away with all sorts of therapy that included pain medications, anti-this-and-that pills and the likes.

The pain was finally tolerable.

Then one day, after 16 years of taking these meds for her pain, the Medical Review Board came along and took the Doctor's license away without notice because he prescribed pain killers to his patients.

My wife (and all of his other patients) was left to hang like a wet sheet in the wind and NOT ONE DOCTOR would help her. One does not just stop taking pain meds like the ones she took overnight after 16 YEARS of taking them. I called the board and their response was "we don't support giving any patient any kind of pain medication" and that was that.

My wife almost died. If had not been for the wonderful people at a local hospital, she would have!

I have hired an Attorney and I am in the process of filing a lawsuit against the Board and a handful of Doctors and one smart-ass in particular at the local Med School Hospital who would have gotten his nose broken if my friends had not pulled me off of him.

Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.

My mother had a congenital defect of her heart. A bicuspid aortic valve instead of the tricuspid one you're supposed to have. When it started wearing out (as is common with this defect), they encouraged her to get the valve replaced as soon as possible so she could start feeling better, enjoy life better, that there's no reason to put it off, blah blah blah. So she listened to them. Then they put in a valve type contraindicated for her. (We found out after the fact that swine valves are not good for people with rheumatoid arthritis.) Then they couldn't wean her from the heart-lung machine because her heart kept going into V-fib whenever they tried, so they had to give her one of those machines like Cheney had, an LVAD, where your own heart isn't pumping, a machine is doing it for you. Her chest was wide open the whole time with saran wrap stuff over it so you could actually see her heart. But OOPS, they didn't have the right kind of LVAD in the hospital so they just fudged what they had. The surgeon swore she was still going to be okay, the odds were 90/10 in her favor, and there was no reason to transport her elsewhere. Like fucking idiots we believed him. Six days later, she went into total organ failure, THEN they put her on a helicopter to a "real" hospital. But it was too late. She had a massive stroke and her brain stem was dislodged. She died at age 59 because she and we trusted a doctor. Even if her original valve ended up killing her, I might have at least had another year or two with my mom.

I had a GP give me an Rx for a med for migraines that he conveniently forgot to tell me that it renders oral contraceptives useless. The pharmacist was the one who alerted me to it. Needless to say, I didn't take the med.

I have another one. My youngest child was born with a blocked tear duct in her left eye. She got an infection in it when she was a few months old, so the doctor ordered an antibiotic. We got it filled at the pharmacy, got home, and put some drops in her eye. Then 20 minutes later, the pharmacist calls to say, "Oops! We put the wrong medicine in the eye dropper! Don't put them in her eyes!" WTF??? Turned out that one dose wouldn't hurt her, but had we used it for a week like we were supposed to, it could have caused blindness.

simply, pharmacists go to school to learn about complications and interactions (then in the pharmacy, their computer progs alert them of the reactions now, normally).

Doctors dont get too many pharmacology classes so something like a sulfa allergy can be missed when prescribed a med and the pharmacist will catch what the doc missed.

Docs just arent really trained in meds enough is what im thinking. This is in general and obviously there will be some docs that took more classes on pharmacology than they needed to for one reason or another.

One story which happened to me, I was cut by a bad oyster at work. A few months went by, then the pain in my back was excurseating, I was going to die. Went to the hospital, I was dying, they told me to come back tommorow, All I needed was antibiotics, but they took my gall bladder for the money. This came to $34,000 in 1996. Since Ive learned about herbs, frequency;s and havnt been sick since.
Though Im gratefull im still alive, The medical industry is the most corrupt industry on this planet. People have to learn.

i told him not to have the surgery but he insisted they knew what they were doing..

they removed his esophagus,which led to an infection in his stomach..which led to another operation and then an infection in his lungs, then they had to punch a hole in his neck & he couldnt speak anymore and they had some tube to drain fluid from his lungs and when they pulled it out, they found that they had accidentally punctured an artery..which led to another surgery..he died twice on the table and they were able to bring him back but he only lasted 2 days after that.

all in the span of less than 30 days..poor mother-fucker just couldnt take any more..

they sent my mom a bill for over $500,000.00 which she is still paying off.

so, fuck doctors & fuck hospitals...

You guys must be mental... Understand that doctors have 'medical' training but are no magic healers, once you realise that they can only offer an educated guess then you'll be fine.

For every doctor/specialist/consultant I see I question any diagnosis or medication they might suggest, I ask why they think it would benefit me and how they came to this conclusion. Never accept anything at face value and always do a little research on the subject yourself, obviously don't get all OCD on the matter and morph into a hypochondriac.

Work with them not against them.

This reminds me of my mother, she went to a doctor for a simple polups scraping,The doc fcked up,she went into coma and died. this proceedure was for infected polups, if she had a zapper or frequency generator this would never had happened. We sued and won. The same doctor died of cancer 20 years later.
