I had a large kidney stone requiring Litotripsy surgery to break it up. All of this went fine.

I went to the doctor for the post-op appointment and had a KUB the same day that showed that it was successful and stone fully cleared. So, I expected that to be the end of it.

NO, the doctor went on to say that I need a full work up. He rattled off like 3 test including a genetic blood test.

I looked at him like he had 3 heads because it seemed very very strange that I would need anything else because it worked and the X-ray was now clear.

I said, "that seems like some very expensive test to be doing at this point". He told me my insurance would cover it 100%.

Ok, that made me ultra paranoid suspicious right there. Insurance companies normally try not to pay and now suddenly they are all too happy to pay for me to have a genetic blood test because I had a kidney stone????????????

I refused ALL of the test. He told me I could think about it and decide when I come back in 3 months and take another X-Ray.

I believe the insurance company is wanting people to get genetic blood testing done to see what their propensity is to get cancer, heart disease, diabetes, an all that sort of data on you.

They will use the results against us later when withholding care decisions are made with health care rationing.

Don't agree to genetic testing. Expect your physicians to start ordering such test on a regular basis for conditions you have never heard of such test being ordered before.
