No OP, it's because you're looking for people to validate your new disbelief in God.

You're looking for comfort in numbers, for people to back you up and solidify your loss of faith and turning your back on God.

You're doing that because you know, deep down inside, that He is real, but you won't allow yourself to say it, you push those thoughts out because it's scary now and threatening to you.

That's what you should have done with the original doubts, push them out and resist and say no. Unfortunately, now you're on the other side of the fence trying to defend and hang onto your falsehood.

Truth is, you will never find real peace and comfort in denying your creator. Never.

You got that completely wrong. I did not go the "hidden esoteric knowledge" route. I researched claims, and many were false. I did this in full faith of God too. I always kept him central. I researched because I wanted to make sure I wouldn't or wasn't decieved. Why do you think your not deceived? Because you were taught what you believe? Your doctrine is correct and others false? How do you know?

You didn't trust God OP, you had doubts, you said it yourself in the bolded part above.

I don't belong to any church OP, and I know that I'm not deceived because the Lord Himself teaches me, guides me, and gives me faith and understanding in all things that I need to know.

It's not about doctrine, it's about a relationship with Him, a deeply personal relationship. A deep love, trust and adoration. It's not about believing so much, but rather knowing. Every cell in my body knows that He is real.

You never had that because if you did, you would not have been able to doubt and then fall away like you did.

Too many assumptions here. I don't seek comfort in numbers, there are plenty of athiests. I don't even care if someone is religious. They can often be nice people.

OP - I believe you are searching very hard for proof of something that only faith can give you, so you must embrace and trust your faith. I respect your ambition to study and try to discover new things about Christianity, but no matter what you may discover, you know instinctively what is right and what is wrong by the example of Jesus Christ. He lived how God wants us to live - it's just that simple. No matter what letter of law you decide is appropriate to adhere to, it matters not. We are all sinners, and we need the help of Jesus Christ to cleanse us of our sin. You defend your faith by living through His example. He is perfect and glorified in His death and resurrection, He is the true path, and He is our Savior :-)

For even Peter the Apostle warned us to be on the look-out.

They weren't doubts in God, I wanted to make sure that although I followed whole heartedly, that I pleased him in every way. That I didn't believe anything false about god or his word and then taught others false things.

I did used to "walk by spirit". I prayed a lot. I did a lot of stuff in faith.

But alas, I feel I am talking to myself so I will now leave.

You might have "done alot" OP, but you didn't feel Him because if you have ever felt Him, you would never be able to turn your back on Him.

Your faith was shallow, alot of "doing stuff" instead of "feeling Him" and building a real personal relationship with Him.

There was no trust and love on your part. That's what happened.

Now you try and find solace in turning your back on Him, and I guarantee you, you'll never find real peace in that.

There really is no such thing as an atheist because we are all connected to God, and we all rely on Him for every breath we take. You don't know that you're connected to Him until you're disconnected. It's almost like breathing, you don't realize that you need oxygen to live until you don't have it anymore. Then, you know it's true, but it's too late because that oxygen is gone.

I hope you come back before you take that last breath because after that, it's too late.

Jeremiah 23:1-4

If Yeshua walked the earth as one of us today, would he be a Torah follower like he was. Or would he do away with it like Christians do?
