the odds are the same if you play this one as if you play any other time. 1 in about 175 million per ticket. And they do NOT change if someone else picks the same numbers. In theory 1 could win or 50 or 400 could all win and share the jackpot. Yes, there are about 300 million in the country but not all of them will play.

IMO the lottery is a tax on those that don't understand statistics.

The prize is split evenly amongst winning tickets. Odds of being struck by lightning in a one-year period are just under 1 in a million.

But the odds of splitting the prize between multiple winners increases.
