when a grandmother breaks a hip, GDP goes up.

when a town is flattened by a natural disaster, GDP goes up.

fracking for oil / gas will make a lot of $$$ now,
makes the state look profitable,
twenty years later,
when all the water wells turn up polluted,
and everyone has cancer,
it will not look so profitable.
