They used to stab the crucified in that area commonly to make sure thy were really dead before taking them down off the cross.
So, if he is depicted on the cross, it seems like he would be depicted as most people on the cross would have appeared..with a slice.

I guess I did not add, that there was another who was also crucified, from the same planet as Esu (Jesus), and that person was confused as being Jesus. That person was pierced according to custom, in the chest. I posted a link to the thread with that detail in it.
