| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1189758 11/28/2012 10:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My first was 40 years ago, it lasted around three minutes. It felt amazing. Time slowed down I went to the window and looked at the clouds. They went by fast, there was a strong wind at that moment. I focussed on one cloud, as if my hand could grab it. Then I moved it in the opposite direction, effortless. That was an amazing site to see. ![]() |

That's just imagination... What i'd like to ask you, is if you were actually fully consious during your experience, of that timeless inner space in a way, from which everything is born, this perception of "the here and the now" and your inner "light" nature? Did you get this "union" fully realised? (For as long as it lasted). Or was it more like "sence", where you realised that something happened, but you coundn't fully "grasp" it in a way? I'm being carefull with words here, words are like the needles of a compass regarding the inner experiences... |

I'm being carefull with words here, words are like the needles of a compass regarding the inner experiences... No I was definitely NOT KIDDING. I felt that it was a special moment, being one with the entire Universe. I had the urge to test it. That is why I tried to move that cloud. I moved clouds before, but only with great effort, this was totally different. BTW I was fully conscious during the event and I did no meditation before the event. Now, 40 years later I can go into the same state a will. It feels great but can not compete with the first time. |
| IssueX User ID: 14348632 11/28/2012 11:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It lasted about 3-4 seconds from time perspective...of course the whole experience is timeless. The first one was about 1 year ago. To be honest, first time i thought (as usually the mind does after such experiences)that it could be really difficult to happen again, probably because my mind was too focused on the surroundings and the way it happened. After the experience you realise that your outer form and surrounding is only a "ladder" that you use to ascend inwards each "time" you have this Satori and you don't need the "vessel" - "mechanism" later on. As i slowely realised this, with the passing time, yesterday's satori was more relaxed, less "wow" from a mind perspective and accompanied with lessened after effects (less mind rush afterwards). Quoting: Innerverse 28295038 I would like to ask anyone here, if he has similar experiences, and i believe that the term i use is very specific in it's nature, and it means literally "being enlightened"...It's beyond love, beyond thoughts, beyond feelings in general, beyond duality...It's in a way so much different than the way we are use to percieve this world...is anyone in this stage rignt now??? 5 stars for you OP my dad's favorite book : [link to www.amazon.com] |

It's just that, perceptions of "outer" power are more linked to a mind-state than a spiritual one...mind wants to alter, to change, in order to understand...but maybe it was a spiritual aspect for you...or helped you for the inwards transition... Meditation and body control exercises haven't actually helped me too much either...they can someway go against your predisposition for natural elightenment... I'm trying not to overanalyse my experience...it would be easier that way to come again... |

They say after satori has happened enlightenment is not very far off, but the distance depends on the understanding capabilities oneself. It can be harder to attain enlightenment if you decide that satori is the highest peak. |

Yes, that's my understanding as well...universe works in opposition...that's what kind of happened after my first experience...the need to put a highest "peak"...that kind of mental projection maybe it's the harder to master...i feel more natural today though...no much need to put context...less anxious, less "wow"ed... |

Knowledge from experience beats books always. The after effects I could feel for almost a week. You said: It can be harder to attain enlightenment if you decide that satori is the highest peak. I can relate to that. The strong inner desire to repeat the experience blocked me for a lot of years. After some, maybe ten, years I joined a Tibetian meditating and singing group for a while. One day at such a meeting I discovered what I wanted to know. Then I left the group to work on it. |

The more we stay as simple watchers the more there is to see. |
