When I've heard that pounding kind of a beat in music played at anything above a whisper volume, my body perceives it as being actually painful! And I get away from it as fast as I possibly can. If I'm in traffic and some idiot with a 500 car and a 30,000 stereo in it is blasting that same music to all for blocks around, I just roll the windows up tight turn on the AC to high, and pray for the light to change.

I think it's interesting that something that is so obviously dangerous and harmful to the body is perceived by these people as pleasurable and they seek it out rather than flee from it.
