It's amazing how effective Charlton Heston was at convincing weak minded individuals who happen to like owning firearms for various purposes like hunting, self defense, range shooting, etc. that the government, and more specifically, liberal candidates running for office are somehow going to take your guns away if they are elected. Gun rights have not substantially changed in forever and no president has taken guns away from people. Furthermore, the president to sign the most substantial gun reform legislation was the H.W. Bush.
