You were on your way home when you died.
It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me.
And that’s when you met me.
“What… what happened?” You asked. “Where am I?”
“You died,” I said, matter-of-factly. No point in mincing words.
“There was a… a truck and it was skidding…”
“Yup,” I said.
“I… I died?”
“Yup. But don’t feel bad about it. Everyone dies,” I said.
You looked around. There was nothingness. Just you and me. “What is this place?” You asked. “Is this the afterlife?”

“Are you god?” You asked.

“My kids… my wife,” you said.

If we are what passes for gods, then we suck! Even more so that we still die to the ground as maggot food. We glory in things and treat our fellow human beings horribly in that some will have a good life while others will die having had a most terrible existence.

It is easy to call yourself a god when you have all that you need to live comfortably and supreme, but, pray tell, what god status do those who live in third world countries hold and abide by?

And if we are 'all' gods, it also sucks that there are a few who feel they are above the rest when they murder, exploit, rape, torture, starve and degrade the very souls of others.

So, who or what declares we are gods and the rules to which we are to live by in peace and love? We gods have done a shitty job as the world only gets colder, lonelier and more pathetic and disgusting. There is more murder, suicide, depression, filth and horror than ever before. And if anyone believes we gods could build a utopia from the humanity that now exists in this lost world, then they fool themselves because the depravity that exists would NEVER allow it.

It doesn't take a Christian to view the world and humanity as it really is.
