A lot of eastern europe doesn't like Russians and their 45 years of occupation, so they have been pulling down the Russian memorials. Also putting up memorials of their own commemorating their native dead, who tend to have been WWII German (code:Nazi) affiliated. Estonia is the standout case. This is Russian handwaving, ignore it like the American handwaving, and the Japanese handwaving, and the South African handwaving, all the same emotionalist cover for political needling.

Then maybe there is a reason for this "disliking"? Communism wasn't "on the list" in assembly.

Communists demolished almost all memorials, most churches, big part of architectural heritage, stole cultural and historical treasures. Mass killings using hunger and cold weather on huge scale. Stolen ("nationalized" as they call it) industries and stolen farms (slavery named "Kolkhoz") lead to poverty and lack of food. It is communist nature and ideology.

Majority of Lithuanian memorials are restored prewar memorials that were destroyed, demolished by communists or replaced by a "huge communist statue". Hardly anyone can like numerous communist era stone-faced display of criminals (communist regime is treated as criminal by the law).
Is it much different in other countries of the same fate?

It has nothing to do with Germany or any "supposed" affiliation.
