Ok, so I'm sure this thread sounds a little silly to some people - me included. I will say however that yesterday morning on the way to work, I was looking at the moon in the morning sky and thought something similar myself, as it looked very - well, weird. On the eastern limb, it seemed to cut off about 3/4 of the way over, and in a completely straight line - as if it was being projected, and someone was holding up a piece of cardboard over part of it.

Now I'm not saying that it IS projected, and I'm sure there is some very rational explanation for this, probably some perspective/light illusion. But it was interesting, and even more so after seeing this thread.

Don't hold your breath.
