Probably 70-80 of them. They seemed to have trouble getting into formation, maybe because of the number, I don't know. They were VERY vocal, and just kind of flying around as a group aimlessly, like they could not find their way. Struck me as very odd. Tomato-tard |

This is odd. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27421514 You know... in my area ducks haave always head south for the winter... but not this year. I just noticed the other day a bunch of them flying in formation and heading EAST in the late afternoon before sunset. In the past I've always noticed them heading WEST... not EAST at sunset. Strange. |

I just decided to drive straight instead of the turn I always take. I drove up a small rise (near Nampa in the state of Idaho) then started down the other side... It was covered with crows. At least five acres of solid crows. I slowed down to a stop...it was unbelievable. It was solid with I would bet 10,000. crows were sitting on the earth on both sides of the concrete road. Many were huge! Some rose as we inched closer, but most stayed there on the ground. I cannot tell you how very big a lot of them were! There were a lot that were not as big. Some of the smaller ones did fly up and circled our van. There was one other car. It also parked to watch the unbelievable scene. They said they lived down the road about two miles but had never seen more than one or two crows in the area at any time This is farm land and we have all seen thousands of seagulls on the plowed acres from time to time. But NEVER crows and what I think are Ravens. My camera was not with me...damn. Could a bad storm be brewing on the west coast? We are about 12 hours drive from the Oregon coast. It has been pretty nice around here. Could the coast be looking at an earthquake? I know, crazy talk...but still. Crows can live to be fifty years old and more. They might know something about things. Teresa Smith |
