Jesus' parable of the good Samaritan: is it relevant? | |

One of the biggest WARNINGS Jesus gives on WHO to watch out for. Go look at the root word used for "well" in the Samaritan woman by the well passage. The same greek word is also used for the word "pit" in "bottomless pit". So, could Jesus also be telling us that when the priests and levites fail, someone ELSE will come? "God is my rock" "....serpents hang on rocks..." |

I know the S.'s of Jesus' day were looked down upon by the ones symbolized by the Levite, priest, and even robbery victim. They only had the 1st 5 books of the Bible, the "Pentateuch". Yet the Samaritan woman knew it was time for the Messiah to appear and obviously viewed that as a thing to be longed for since he would "disclose all things to us openly". oops-have to quit now. hope to finish later- |
