im in so calif and I saw that last night as well. Definitely an odd site. The bright star was right above the moon - very close and much bigger than I remember seeing other planets. There was just something odd about the position and the distance of it - looked closer that it should have. It as cloudy - over the moon, and yet I could still see it, very brightly - if there were other moons orbiting it I couldn't tell w the naked eye

really, what was it? and did ANYONE get a picture of it?

Why is it so much further away tonight? I dont know enough about how fast the orbit or cycle is..
