If he approached me, I would think the coin was fake. I don't think this video really proves anything.

I really doubt it's that they don't have the cash, I'd say it's more they are thinking that the strange looking guy with a camera nearby is trying to pull a fast one on them.

good point
In a Time of Universal Deceit, Telling the Truth is a Revolutionary Act - George Orwell

Rachel Maddow is HOT!!! - Seriously I'd hit it.

A VOTE FOR JUSTIN TRUDEAU IN 2015, WOULD BE THE MOST COWARDLY & IRRESPONSIBLE THING A CANADIAN CITIZEN COULD DO TO THEIR OWN PEOPLE. GUN GRABBERS ARE THE COMMON ENEMY OF ALL PEOPLE.

GUN CONTROL HAS RESULTED IN THE SLAUGHTER OF 262 MILLION CITIZENS BY THEIR GOVERNMENTS OVER THE PAST 100 YEARS.

THE LIBERAL PARTY OF CANADA & THE NDP ENDORSE GUN CONTROL, AN ESSENTIAL POLICY OF HITLER, STALIN, MAO, POL POT, EDI AMIN, QADDAFI, SADDAM, ASSAD, & EVERY OTHER TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENT THIS PAST CENTURY.

CANADIANS MUST NEVER FORGET THE BETRAYAL OF BILLS C-68 & C-17. WE MUST NOT REST UNTIL THEY ARE FULLY REPEALED.

C-19 WAS A GOOD START......BUT JUST A START. GET OFF YOUR COLLECTIVE ASSES AND MAKE AN IMPACT. WE HAVE 26 MONTHS.

I, THEE BOB, SWEAR ON THE ALTER OF GOD TO FIGHT ALL FORMS OF CANADIAN TYRANNY AND SAVE MY COUNTRY FROM THE EVILS OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER. I WILL NEVER HAND IN MY GUNS. EVER. I AM A FREE MAN, I WILL NOT BE THE BITCH OF THE SOCIALIST ESTABLISHMENT. LEAVE ME ALONE.

And more to the point, cash has value now. No one accepts gold as currency at it's value, if you need food or water or other supplies that gold coin is worthless, especially if TSHTF. This guy has a hard enough time selling it for far below it's actual value, when the dollar becomes worthless this is just another hunk of metal, it won't mean crap.

I kinda laugh at the people hoarding gold, thinking it's gonna save them when times get tough. When those times arrive people will be trading in good, not worthless "precious" metals.

Re: Mark Dice tries to sell $1100 one ounce gold coin for $50; no takers
I think that that the people that Mark is asking, are not so much apathetic towards what he is selling, but cannot
rationalize the value and the methods behind attaining it.

As Mark mentions half way through the video, you can take
the coin into a gold shop for it's market price.

However, even though some are versed in the price, and some are not, they are unaware to where the gold shop is located, who else would be interested in the coin, and even if they
had 50 dollars on them, how could they appraise the gold?

Yes, they could use their eye. Fair enough. However, a street vendor in 21st century America, with a microphone and a camera, whose goal it is to make people look apathetic, is apathetic in his own estate, because he is apathetic
towards the reasoning behind their distrust in his sales.

It's shocking to hear that this piece of gold is only
worth thirty dollars, and he has a smile on his face
while he selling the product, unlike a business man
who is confident in his or her sales, her customers
and the value of the product and the reason behind selling it.

Mark is conducting a comedy sketch, not a business pitch.

Perhaps he is beginning a bank. All I can guess is he is buying paper gold, until it crashes. Like the silver market. When it's 22.54 in 2014

Sure it has perceived value, which was born from its original intent of being a paper coupon which would be exchanged for actual gold or silver within local economies.

Thousands of years of silver and gold use, regardless if you like them or not, have already defined them as real currencies. These metals are "goods". While you can't eat them they are accepted as units for trade and thus become recognized as money. Carrying rotting fish around looking to trade with a blacksmith isn't exactly going to be much of a trade.

Anyway, judging by your comment I'm probably just wasting my time but it was worth a shot.

Physical is becoming more "expensive" in dollar terms. I've also noticed that the quality of numismatic coins has fallen but prices are going higher. Modern minted coins still have some premium assigned but are almost always priced on the paper

-Some good comments here.

I too wouldnt trust some guy with a camera and his (potentially fake) coin for $50...Not one bit.

Fucking scams everywhere these days. Hell, I sold a PS3 on Craigslist and someone tried to scam me by telling me they could only pay direct deposit to my bank account (and wanted my details)

It seems like everyone is out to scam these days and if random guy with a camera makes me out to be a fool for not taking a 1 oz Gold Coin for $50...So be it. Maybe next week I will try to go to that same spot with an iron Pyrite (fools gold) Coin and see how quick people jump on it for a mere $50...Personally, I think anyone who took the deal would have been foolish unless they had a keen knowledge of testing Gold (which is quite complex)

American sheeple are about the dumbest people on earth when it comes to the true value of REAL money.

They'd suck a dick for $100 bill that costs the gov't four cents to make but wouldn't pay $50 for a 1 ounce US Gold coin worth $1750 in cash (today's price).

Same dumb asses sell their gold jewelry to Cash 4 Gold for $16 - $145 per ounce.

A friend of mine owns a pawn shop and he finds gullible people on the other end of the spectrum.

They will sell thousands of dollars worth of gold jewelery and coins for enough to buy a dime bag or two of pot.

I went to an auction last year where they had over $3000 worth of gold jewelry mixed in with junk costume jewelry. I bought it all for under $100 and sold it two days later.

Happens alot. Sheeple don't have any idea what real money is worth. They prefer paper and plastic.
