I've just never used native disk encryption on a linux machine before and not familiar on how to configure it . this isnt truecrypt . I did it during install with whatever cinnamon uses to do it . and Im trying to transfer music n stuff from my ubuntu drive and it said when I tried to access my home folder for the transfer on mint encryption isnt configured . So I need to know how to set it up to be accessed from outside mint. I assume there is a password or something or some interface ? |

Check that makeuseof link. It tells you how to install the encrypted fs utils. Looks like you can set a passwd with it. |

Yea , I actually did the encryption when I installed mint as an option but that did show me how to set the password . So it helped but now I just need to figure out how to interface the encryption from ubuntu to put the password in . |

I would think you could just copy from one to another. Just would need to make sure the encrypted home folder got mounted. This might help. I've never used one but think I might after this. The place I used to work implemented bitlocker on all laptops. |

If so, it should just mount unless the home folder was encrypted too. In that case the other link might help. |
