Old age, without the bullshit
Forget On Golden Pond. Old age sucks. My now departed mother told me this, and she never usually used the word, "suck".

What does old age, particularly advanced old age mean?
1. Every day you get just a little bit uglier.
2. Falling asleep gets harder.
3. Your so-called muscles are disappearing.
4. You used to love sports. They are way in the past.
5. You look at a babe or a hunk and forget for a moment they
see you as a bag of wrinkles.
6. Every visit to the doctor might involve being given the
"you're going to die soon" card.
7 You breath smells and your teeth are yellow.
8. Soon you will be hooked up to a respirator, with relatives
quietly mumbling through your drugged-up haze.

Advanced old age SUCKS big time.

Thank you OP.

The trouble is that we don't realise this while we are young.

Current life is depressing enough for most.
No need to add fuel to the fire with this stuff.

Hence....your lack of replies.

Haha!

It's just that everyone does not age in such a negative way!

Take care of yourself and you won't go out the same way as your mother OP.

Work out til the day you die. Don't stop cheering for your sports teams.

Take care of your teeth.

Sweet spirits attract the attention of all ages.

Come on now, just turn it all around.

A person is not old until their regrets take the place of their dreams.

Well, if you have enough money you can have the next Anna Nicole Smith suck your winky while you breath pure oxygen. People laughed at the old guy. But those same people are now 15 years older and some are beginning to think maybe he was not so crazy after all.

Your anxiety of future old age is easily to overcome.
Just start playing some challenging RPG videogames to train yourself in a fantasy role!

Re: Old age, without the bullshit
Just turned 66 and yeah, there are some drawbacks to aging, but then again, I'm still alive and doing the things I love. I still work part-time at a job I love, garden up a storm in the spring/summer and eat well, love my family and give a helping hand where I can.

I'm a pleasant looking, slightly dumpy woman (so other females don't find me threatening) and I interact with people of all ages (I work at the reference desk of a fairly busy public library). I wear silly headbands that give my patrons a laugh (I take my job seriously, but myself less-so).

My brain is still sharp, and I can work around my less than athletic body. Loving what you do, having hobbies, and a good attitude on life makes all the difference.

Ask me again when I'm about 80.bump
