Can You See Things Before They Happen?

I don't see things before they happen but very often I 'know' them.

I share with my family and closest friend.

It's to the point where my family tell me NOT to say something. I may share an intuition and they'll say "*gasp!* Don't say that!!"

I laugh and say, "Why not?"

Them, "Because I don't WANT that to happen!"

I explain, "It's not like it happens because I say it... I just know it'll happen and I'm trying to let you know so you can be aware and decide whether you want that outcome or not.. if you don't, do something different!"

I went on a date once some moons ago. On the drive to our destination we had casual conversation which was fine. Until every time I said something a few minutes later we would pass a sign on the side of the road that said the same things.

Once or twice wasn't so bad. I pretended nothing happened. But after a couple dozen times my companion started freaking out and told me she couldn't comprehend what was happening.

I didn't speak the rest of the trip or the return trip. A short time after we discussed what had happened. And she claims she didn't remember a thing. She chose somehow to block out the experience. After myself recalling some detail she finally remembered. And it was left at just that.

I had never been on that road route before. And I haven't been back.

quite regularly I will have dreams that then play out in real life some time later, be it days, weeks or months.

they are generally very detailed and I will remember what people wore, where they were situated, entire conversations word-for-word. when the dream scenarios occur in real life, I am able to complete peoples conversations in advance and otherwise know what will happen immediately next.

so far I have seen news reports, conversations, specific scenes and other similar events. Nothing seems to be of great significance, I haven't dreamed of a death that I could have prevented or anything like that. I once dreamed of a set of lotto numbers but didn't think to get the draw number lol.

I seem to have 2-5 of these dreams a month and I don't know why they happen. To me it just says I'm on the right path in life.

so yeah, I believe you can see things before they happen because it happens to me all the time...

Yes and if you really piss me off I can wreck havoc on your electronics.

Love the date story. I have only met another who could turn off street lamps with me. Moved 2000 miles away and all I would have to do was think about him and he would call. Can I see the future, hell no, I block it, can I tell you yours...

You can go back to painting and love it once again because there is beauty in painting unseen spiritual reality beyond time and space. It was a shock, but it wasn't a bad thing to have that deep connection.

Damien is correct. There is intuition and there is knowing something with no external cue. When a person does both, perhaps they can't always tell the difference, but there are clearly times when it was intuition (but the in-laws said "psychic!" also clear times when you can spend a month looking for the "five senses cue" but there are none.

I am intuitive and also "psychic".

We are sensitive people. We see the "woo woo" looks. We can be very socially out of sync. I've spoken of things I thought were obvious to everyone only to be treated like a hallucinating delusional crock. THEN when I am proven right on, I get to bear peoples television-comic book projections about "prophets, psychics, witches, seers, remote viewers, magicians, gypsies, what have you". It is unpleasant. Remember that there are people who still believe such things come from "clean or unclean spirits". Remember too that not long ago a belief in "having ESP" said "schizophrenic or superstitious" to a lot of people. People can get stand offish when you make them doubt their sanity or educated reason.

I'm no purple lady. I don't own tarot cards or speak in tongues or handle snakes. I don't stare at goats or wear a thousand silver charms to keep the devil away. Its been forty years since I've tried to levitate or move a pencil with my mind. What I can do is as simple and natural as eating peaches from the fruit bowl. Its a shame the woo woo people and nuh uh people made me feel like a freak about it.

Maybe we are super sensitive to condensation and ridicule. Understand why. Be kind.

Also, make sure you thoroughly question whether on some level you believe you painted the tragedy--created it. You did not. But that's the kind of guilty thought people have after trauma. We are not omnipotetent beings, and that shames us. Sigh. :)

Also ask why you saw the beauty but not the tragedy. If you saw the tragedy you might have prevented it. Its painful to question but the only way to make your peace with it.

It can't be right to blind ourselves in any way. I hope you paint again.

I have the same gift, I have had it since I was a child and have struggled with it at many points during my life especially when the premonition was not good. Never ignore it! The last time I ignored it my cousin passed away as a result.

I often have dreams that tend to happen, these dreams are different to the other normal dreams I have as I seem to be able to differentiate between a premonitory dream and a regular dream.

I am also able to sense things while I am awake. Sometimes I have an overwhelmingly strong feeling of a presence in a place or of an event prior to its occurance. This usually happens a week or two prior to its taking place and normally when I am able to inform the person or people concerned about it can prevent a negative outcome or preempt a positive one.

As I get older my gift seems to be getting stronger and now I find that I am actually able to cause things to occur just by the way I feel and think about them.

It is of uttermost importance that if you have this gift the stay away from negativity of negative influences, you must remain positive and think positive thoughts.

I actually came across this while looking for answers to questions I have about this gift. I was trying to find other people with the same or similar experiences. At different stages of my life I have had a number of different things happen to me and would like to find out if others have had similar experiences.

Its not really seeing, but its like a feeling. for example: last weekend i was in bed with my girlfriend, 2 days before het neighbour asked if it was ok if he would pick up his key at saturday, we would be. At home so that wouldnt be a problem.
Saturday came and we were in bed, cuddling (aka, having sex) and all of the sudden i was sure he was going to ring soon, so i asked 'Is juan coming for his key or not?' 2 seconds after, the doorbell rang. We didnt hear anything because he was still outside.

2nd example, few days before the first one:
We (again my gf and I) were walking on the streets, some drunk talked to himself,i thought he asked for a cig. He didnt because he looked at me like i was a monster. A couple of seconds later, 2nd guy came to us and asked for a cig.

It may mean nothing, but it is noticable i think. These. Situations seem to be increasing by the day. It makes me feel weird.
