I don't agree to the way this sounds, 'possession' and 'indwelt host',  I don't think it will be like a possession, that you think of, horror movies tend to exagerate :) maybe if you think of it as that voice within, the inner compas that we all have, perhaps the host just controls that and not everything else in the body. Perhaps more of an inflow of information/knowledge, rather than the inflow of a personality.
