its not that anyone is to blame per say, he did and said some foolish things earlier.
the crazy thing is that he wanted to impress that group. he felt he needed their guidance. as though they could show him the way. by now he must realize that their refusal and the circumstances around it was actually his being guided by that ibbur apollo mentioned. guided away from those who would either intentionally cause him harm or steer him in the wrong direction.
he is probably having some very clear thoughts by now, isnt even stressed despite the anticipation. he has complete trust already and wont spend his time worrying that something is broken when it obviously isnt.
he met the being who rides on his dna. they had an interaction. things are going just fine.
