Only a fairly public school graduate could come up with this answer.

I apologize if it was to layman for you... but please feel welcome to elaborate on your opinion. What would you say is the problem with mob rule? Feel free to use your PHD brain to elaborate I promise it won't give me a headache.

I see you are a Ron Paul supporter. Since I am as well I don't care to argue with you. I wish, however, that you would rethink your defense of mob rule. That is not the way to go.

Maybe a constitutional republic?

Let me clarify what I really want is the State to be in charge of everything except National Security and Foreign Policy. Meaning I want majority votes for everything in question that the fed currently rules over. Example would be taxes, medical insurance, drug legalizing, Gay marriage, abortion and pretty much all "Pressing" issues that shouldn't be delegated on a nationwide scale.

I honestly can see the problems with MOD Rule but it doesn't mean what we are currently doing is any better.

Although not a direct-vote system, Hong Kong has an autonomous agreement with China for self-rule in all areas except National Security and Foreign Policy.

So sadly, in a sense, China has a deal with Hong Kong that's better than the deal that the US states have with their federal central government.
