Lawrence DePrimo was working a counterterrorism post when he spotted a homeless, shoeless man. He brought the man a new pair of boots, and a tourist snapped this image of DePrimo helping the man put on the shoes.

Thank you GFG - acts like this remind me of the movie "Pay It Forward" - it starts a chain of love that absolutely can go a long way :-)

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." - Revelation 21:4

Truth needs no validation because it is self-evident and undeniable. Therefore, anything that requires validation to be realized or justified as truth must contain at least some degree of falsehood.

Thanks OP

What if everyone made an effort to perform at least one act of kindness, do one thing that makes a positive difference each day?

Re: A simple act of kindness can go a long way.
Many years ago....I was in a very bad place. The finances were so bad that I was always just weeks away from actual homelessness.....electric or gas or water was always being disconnected and I was experiencing TRUE hunger for days at a time....

I didn't know anything about local charities.....didn't know how to or where to turn for help......

I can't remember how it came about, but I was referred to a local church that ran a food pantry. Up until then, I'd never HEARD of a food pantry.

I was told to go to the church and knock on the door, which I did. A lady was waiting for me and she gave me a can of government peanut butter and a frozen turkey.

I drove home in a daze and when I got the turkey into the house, all I could do was to sit in my kitchen and weep with gratitude at whoever it was that had donated that bird for my family that they'd never met.

A year or so later, I was blessed with the chance to actually work in a food pantry, giving out boxes of food to needy families.....

It was an eye-opening experience......some people donate their expired old canned goods, (I kid you not...there was a can of walnuts that was so old that it was round on both ends like it was about to explode). And others would donate the most expensive types of things.....It was like, as I was stacking these foods on the shelves, I would be sorting them into the two types of humans on the earth....those who love their fellow man and those who just can't bring themselves to give a rat's butt.....

I've learned to savor the joy of encountering those who fall into the first category....
